Maybe time for a new gold?
I wish rolex would trend set with something called maybe "rich gold" (a rolex exclusive ;)". Halfway between rose gold and yellow gold. Of the watch guys I know, most think yellow is a little too "brassy" and rose is a little too "coppery". I'm in that camp.
What do you guys think? Would you buy a "rich gold" submariner. Yellow gold with a little more copper (and some platinum to stabilize it)... Merry Christmas & happy holidays all!

what do they call it? I've only seen their pink gold and yellow gold. Their pink is very coppery... Looks great, just very coppery.

My K-Serial rose-gold Day-Date 118235 may be that in-between gold color. The rose-gold on new Rolex watches in my AD's display is definitely a darker color.

I'm digging that 118235 as well. Personally, I'd like to see it. I like Rolex's yellow gold but find the everrose to coppery for my taste, save the for ceramic daytona on strap.

I think you would like A Lange Sohne's pink gold in their lingo comb gold. It's neither too coppery nor too yellowish tone

I have noticed that the older RG are less copper colored...

Don't get me wrong, I'm with you. I like Rolex YG & RG (and WG), I would just like that additional color. Kind of like the "apricot" gold color you see used for some jewelry.

I just saw the honey gold ALS on Hodinkee. I love the color. That was exactly the concept I was looking for. Thanks!

that is an awesome timepiece. a few years ago i gifted myself with a steel/gold submariner. i'm sorry now i didn't go with solid gold but i didn't have the scratch. now that i'm in a better financial position i may have to seriously reconsider it.

I think it's on it's way - in Dec. 2015 Rolex released 3 rose gold patents

Breguet and FPJ make exactly that color gold.
AP does not. |

I had been thinking I'd like to see a very soft yellow gold, between the current YG and WG. Would be great for those looking for a little more subtlety.

As an addition to the YG, RG it would be OK. I am not sure what the market would support. For me, no one does YG better than Rolex.
