Gin With The Most Pronounced Juniper (and Other Botanicals)

I find that the tonic has a greater impact on taste of the drink than the gin itself.

I recently "discovered" Fever Tree tonic which is totally natural and tastes sublime. I seriously suggest that you give it a try.

As regards to the Gin, I tend to go for Bombay.

not sure what else there is of substance but then again i dont drink gin unless it is knee deep in a long island iced tea

I like Bombay & Bombay Sapphire gin.

Hendricks and Tanqueray Old Tom (If you can't get the Old Tom because it is a limited edition but should be gettable from Amazon, the normal Tanqueray has a good Juniper taste). Plymouth Gin is another. As others have said, Fever Tree Tonic is a must. I also found 1724 and Fentimans Tonic to be really good and gives a different taste to the Gin. (1724 if you don't have any lemon or lime).

A good American Gin Is Bluecoat Gin (Made in Philadelphia) and has a fabulous bottle, also "Deaths door Gin" which I bought just for the name.

Another recommendation for Fever Free tonic. Been using Ransom Old Tom gin to mix things up. Traditionally a Hendricks man with a cucumber.

I found that Monkey 47 to be very peppery and doesn't have a pronounced Juniper taste. It is nice but (for me) very different from "traditional juniper" Gin.

Fair point. More for the "other botanicals" referenced. That being said, its a very complex gin that will not disappoint. Price is high compared to most gin.

Yes, that is very true, I got a bottle and enjoyed it very much, you describe it perfectly as "complex" and I agree it will not disappoint, the price, as you mentioned, is high, especially as it came in a slightly smaller bottle than usual.

Recently, I have been enjoying Tanqueray No. 10. However, Tanqueray No. 10 has a less pronounced juniper taste and they added 4 additional botanicals to the mix - grapefruit, lime, orange, and camomile.

I like The Botsnist Gin. It's made with 31 botanicals and distilled in small batches in the last working Lomond Still at the Bruichladdich Distillery on Islay in Scotland. Many of the botanicals are hand sourced on Islay. It's good stuff and my Gin swilling friends shared my thoughts when I brought some for them to try.

Thank you for the recommendation, I will try this, just a cursory search (to see where I could buy it in the UK) brought up only 5 star reviews from Amazon for both the Navy Strength (One review just said "LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT) and The Rare Dry Gin, my only problem now....Which one to go for.

I bought Bombay Sapphire and we were happy with it.

I already have Bluecoat (Phillly, PA distilled) and drank the sheet out of it

Not high on Juniper, but very herbaceous is Uncle Val's, which is my current favorite.
