Copy and original? What's the point?

I read in a watch forum somewhere that someone had a copy and an original model of Rolex. He wore the copy when going on camping or in places that might be possible to scratch or hit the piece. Isn't that (sorry to say) stupid? I don't think that by knowing that you wear a copy would make you feel the same. I would never do that...

P.S.
I'm not sure if this is the right category for this thread. Moderators, you are free to do what you want...

Seems weird to me. When I go camping or something, I strap on the Seiko and leave the Rolex at home.

The guys sounds like a berk to me but it's his choice to wear a fake and keep the real deal in his sock drawer.

Also off to "Watchout" for this thread.
