Eating solo in Geneva

I'll be flying to Munich soon to visit friends and celebrate a friend's birthday but decided to fly first to Geneva for a quick stop. Does anyone have any good recommendations for food for a solo traveler? I have no reservations about eating alone, but don't think long formal dinners would be as enjoyable by myself. Anything with good food at a chef's table or just cool/casual suggestions would be apprciated!

I eat alone at michelin restaurants when travelling in Europe. Nothing wrong with it imo. I just need to get drunk to forget my loneliness 😭

Fair enough. I'll take any good suggestions, and bars to get drunk at beforehand!

My only suggestion is avoid Sundays....it could quite possibly be the most boring place on earth on that day of the week

Ha! I definitely won't be on my phone (book is not out of the question). Not there on a Sunday, but I fully appreciate having shops closed on Sundays; so nice to be out doing anything but running errands.

Maybe a nice Rolex boutique instead managed
by a beautiful lady who can recommend a nice
place to dine at...

For two... should you invite her since she may
have recommended the establishment ...

Try Cafe de Paris.
Its a Genevoise institution but actually a french bistro. The only thing they serve is Cafe de Paris with fries and a salad. Expect to pay around 40chf for the main course. Its close to the main station.
If you prefer a quick and informal bite and enjoy burgers try The Holy Cow. Also close to the station they offer a burger, VERY thick fries (or salad) and all you can drink "sirop" (in several different flavors) for 20 chf. I frequently go there when visiting GVA on my own.
If you are staying close to the airport there is a restaurant called l'aviation known for its meats, and an italian called LaGioconda.
Just across the border from the CERN visitor center (cant miss it, its a huge ball) into France is a micro brewery pub with according food. They make a nice brew there and you can get there with public transport.

Cafe de Paris: get there around 1800 or make a reservation, it tends to fill up thgh I am sure they can always accommodate one.

Is that Entrecote Cafe de Paris or do they do different meats?

I prefer it made with Filet Mignon and my wife makes a killer Cafe de Paris butter with 33 ingredients instead of the traditional 27.

Entrecote, but you barely notice, its a choice cut. The entrecote has a slightly juicier taste/texture and its almost pity to smother a good filet with cafe de paris butter imo.
Here is a link to their website: http://www.cafe-de-paris.ch
The menu is somewhere linked at the bottom.

33 ingredients sounds amazing! Do send us some pics (and/or the ingredient list pls:-))

Welcome!

Actually cafe de paris is a place where it doesnt matter if you go formal or informal, and no worries about dining alone there either, they serve food fairly quick too depending a bit on restaurant occupancy.

Been to Geneva 2 years ago to visit AP manufacture and I think Geneva is really a city more for watches, watch browsing and paying visits to watch boutiques. Every major brand is present there in quite a big way with the latest product offerings. It's simply heavenly for WIS guys like us but not much for anything else. I certainly won't rate the food/cuisine there highly. But then, I have only been there once so I can't say for sure.
