Possibly purchasing a blue dial 1603. Is it original?

Hi everyone,

I am looking at purchasing this blue dial 1603. My concern is that I want the watch to be all original (dial, hands, etc.)

I don't have the most trained eye, so I am looking for anyone's help. The seller says the watch dates to 1986.

Thank you

It's a 16030 with a 3035 quick set movement, quite a nice watch. The watch looks fine, the seller guarantees 100% Rolex. Price seems reasonable. Post pics when you get it! :)

Watch looks fine. It may have seen a couple of polishing sessions since 1986. Priced accordingly. I would be interested to know stretch condition of the bracelet and how many links short (or not) of the 22 links normally found in a D link. Verify bracelet code matches serial / year of watch.

That dial is not original to a DJ from 1986. It's a later, non-tritium replacement dial, presumably luminova. Also, note the Roman numerals around the edge of the dial. That's a later design.

Here's one of my DJs, from 1987, for comparison. (Excuse the poor photo)

Agree with Swish77. Here's my 1987 R serial DJ blue dial (though a 16013). Do yourself a favor -- buy from a renowned seller here and not somewhere out on eBay.
