Dials fine it was me doing a very bad job of cloning some dust out that was on the glass and dust on the sensor of the camera

Phew!! that's a relief! 'Dustgate' to one side, the textured surface of the dial does look quite amazing in super close up.

Thanks for posting. Could I just ask what lenses you used to get such a sharp image?

Hi Max

photo taken with a Nikon D3 DSLR and Nikon 105mm f2.8 Macro lens stopped down to f16 with 2 flash heads for lighting.
