First impression was that the new Cellini Moonphase is beautiful ... then I read the fine print about the Cellini's implementation of the moonphase ... and turned the page.

Very nice, but I agree would be hard to buy this over brands known for their dress watches in the same price range.

Well for that price, glad I'd get a moonphase correction tool...

I need that in my life.

If that tool is in gold then it would be a nice collector's item type thing. It would help somewhat to explain the price. But i still don't think it justifies it.

Good looking watch. I'm more of a sports/bracelet guy, so the appeal is limited for me, but I can see the attraction this watch will have for many...although with a 26k price tag, that will most likely limit the actual buyer pool.

Really like this one. Beautiful watch. The moon phase set up is a little weird...but it certainly looks great.

At this price - why would you choose this over a Lange 1 Moonphase? (preowned). There is absolutely no comparison in terms of who creates a better watch.

New Rolex Cellini Moonphase

In noodling around the interwebs for moon phase exemplars, I came across this:

Back in Feb. 2015, this watch was predicted by Monochrome - it never happened then - but I think the 2017 reality could have been implemented with the moonphase window as Monochrome illustrated it for their article...judging by some of the comments here it may have been better. Maybe not off to the right side of the dial - and not with the date subdial - but with the moon phase window you'll see here.

https://monochrome-watches.com/rolex...ches-hope-see/

Monochrome image - not a real Rolex

Monochrome image - not a real Rolex

There are differences like a perpetual calendar and the Cellini brand but... What if Rolex had used the traditional moon phase window you see above? Wouldn't that have helped simplify the confusing instructions for people living in the Southern Hemisphere?

Very nice watch. But over-priced. Is there good discount for Cellini range?

Absolutely a striking watch though not for me. Moon phase though interesting is relatively irrelevant imho. I'm drawn but not that much at 26K. Too many other watches I'd want first for that money.

Did you know that if you travel to the Southern Hemisphere hat you must read that moonphase dial in opposite phase? (Except Full &a New)

Doesn't seem like that big of an issue to me

If you have to include a diagram of how to interpret the phases of the moon on a moon-phase watch, ya kinda failed at the delivery. Especially at $26,000.

It isn't really...I have a Grandfather Clock with moonphase - it was correct for exactly one month. It's first month in our home.

But my point was actually about the poor implementation when all other brands have a better moonphase window.
