Icon20 Thread: *MINTY* Rolex Datejust 16200 D Serial/Fresh Service/Box/Papers/Quality Straps

**CAUTION: PIC HEAVY POST** ... as it should be..

For sale is my beloved 36mm Datejust. Of all the watches I have ever sold, I think this one will sting the most. However I am working towards a grail piece that I have wanted for a very long time, so alas the Datejust must go. I know this is a lengthy listing, but I try to be as transparent as possible with my listings so please make sure you read the whole thing if you are interested in purchasing the watch. Please reach out with any questions and please check my ample WUS references (below).

What is included:

· Rolex Datejust 16200 Smooth Bezel/Silver Dial 36mm (no bracelet)
· D-Serial number (2005/2006)
· Boxes: inner green wave Rolex box in immaculate condition, outer white box with green coronet logo, outer white box sleeve
· Rolex Datejust user manual booklet
· Rolex Datejust Factory Service manual
· Rolex green warranty card wallet
· Rolex red Officially Certified Swiss Chronometer seal & green hang tag
· Original microfiber cloth
· Watch appraisal from Heller Jewelers
· Invoice from when watch was purchased from reputable dealer Sant Blanc in 2013
· Warranty paperwork from Sant Blanc (3 year, now expired)
· Art Of The Watch (CW21 certified) full service receipt – done on March 14th 2017 and comes with a 1 year warranty of work
· Bulang & Sons 20mm Lumberjack brown leather strap with B&S buckle, includes B&S strap canvas bag (like new condition)
· Custom Brown Alligator 20mm strap and buckle (barely worn)
· Italian leather black alligator print 20mm strap no buckle (brand new/unworn)
· Swiss made high quality set of curved spring bars

Condition & Details:

This watch is in absolutely incredible condition. I would estimate the watch at 9.8/10. This is a piece that was babied and maintained to be sure. The watch originally came on an oyster bracelet. The old Rolex oysters were chintzy and cheap so I did not even bother with it when I bought this piece. I think the watch looks like a million bucks on a leather strap however if you want an original oyster you can find them all over eBay or the forum classified sections. I am including 3 different quality straps with the watch that I personally feel compliment the watch the best. I have included a Brown Alligator strap for formal/dressy occasions, a black Italian leather strap for casual/all around occasions, and a vintage inspired Lumberjack Brown Bulang & Sons strap for more relaxed/less formal occasions. Each one of these straps changes the look and feel of the watch and transforms the versatile color of the dial. The sunburst silver dial on this piece is one of the most unique I have ever seen. It plays with the light in a way I have yet to experience on another watch. Technically it is silver, but depending on the light it can shimmer like light playing off water, or shine like brushed steel, or even appear to have a matte crème color.

This particular model is a transition model. This was the last year where Rolex used the smooth/clean rehaut ring (inner piece between the dial and the crystal) before transitioning to the engraved rehaut with the “Rolex Rolex Rolex” all the way around. Personally, on a classic looking piece such as this, I much prefer the clean look. The smooth rehaut reflects the applied indices so beautifully. The crystal has the tiny laser etched coronet at 6 o’clock. The cyclops is crystal clear and a true 2.5x magnification. The crown winds buttery smooth and screws in effortlessly. The date clicks over with a sharp snap when setting the date or when winding past midnight.

As you can see from the condition, this watch is impeccable. The smooth steel bezel is in pristine condition as is the case, crystal and cyclops. The lume on the hands and the lume dots next to the applied indices glow very well.
The only marks you will find on the watch are tiny marks on the inner lugs from where the original bracelet sat on the lugs as well as two tiny “scuffs” near the model & serial numbers from where the bracelet touched the case however outside of that this piece is minty.

Accuracy:

Up until yesterday I had no plans of selling this piece however I have a grail piece that presented itself unexpectedly and I need to sell a watch in order to fund it. I just pumped $517.00 into a full service on this piece two weeks ago. My local watchmaker is Rolex, Breitling & Omega trained and one of the best in the business (WOSTEP trained & CW21 certified). On top of the regular service, I had him install new OEM mainspring, rotor axel, and calendar wheel. Look up Art of the Watch on Instagram to see the amazing work Kelly does.

The watch always ran very well, but after service it is running better than ever. I am seeing a very consistent +1.5 to +2.5/sec a day which is not only within prior Rolex Chronometer specs, but it is within current Rolex Chronometer specs. The watch was regulated to 6 positions and passed both water and pressure testing with flying colors.

Price:

I am asking a very fair $3,650.00 for this piece. Given what is included, the condition for its age, and the recent full service which is not reflected in the price, this watch is worth every penny. Had I known I was going to sell it I may not necessarily had it serviced yet as it was still another year or two from truly needing it however my loss is your gain on the service costs.
PayPal or wire transfer only. If you chose to go the PayPal route, buyer covers 3% PayPal fees, I cover USPS Certified Mail shipping.
Continental U.S. buyers only please.
No trade offers please.

This is my first watch offered on TRF, so all of my references are from WUS.

I am not a watch dealer or reseller. All of the pieces I sell are strictly pieces form my collection.
