Tudor Black Bay lume question.

Hi I just bought he Tudor Black Bay black, it's a fantastic watch I've finally pulled the trigger on this watch after a year of searching. However, there is one thing bothering me and that's because the hour hand lume is not evenly applied!! There are less lume in the middle of the hand and much more on the edges. Is this normal or what? I read basically every possible reviews out there before finally able to decide and one of the big factors was that every reviews out there seems to agree on how evenly the lume was being applied to the hands/markers. If this is completely normal then I wouldn't have to replace it with a new one because the result might be the same anyways. Please help, anything is appreciated, thanks!

All I wanted to know if this in a common problem with that gigantic hour hand. If it is, I'll live with it, if not I'll replace.

I have the first generation of the Black Bay (with the Tudor Rose on the dial and curved 'self winding' script) and my lume is perfectly even all over with no high/low spots. The lume in your picture does not look right to me, but maybe that is how Tudor applied the lume for the second generation of the Black Bay. Or you took a really bad pic. Can somebody with a second gen Black Bay Black take a pic with the lume on bright and post it here?

Your watch looks beautiful! I love the color of that lume! Why is yours blueish and mine is more green?

That's why! All the reviews out there seems to say something like "lume evenly applied" and mine is definitely not. You think the picture looks bad, I just took a video and it looks worse, but about 80% accurate to how it would appear in real which is even worse. I'm expecting mich more from a Rolex sister brand. To be fair thou, everything else looks sharp.

I'm going to call RSC tomorrow here in Beverly Hills and see if they can replace the hour hand for me. Anybody have a better idea?

Try charging the watch with more light. The more charge the bluer the color. As the watch runs out of charge it shifts from blue to green. It might also explain the variation you're seeing in the hour hand. Try using the flashlight on your cell to charge the lume.

Thank for the reply. Actually the more I charge it, I still have creemy green color. And the imperfections are more visible when charged. I'll likely talk to a RSC and possibly get it repaired.

Please let me know how they resolved the issue for you, cause i have not only uneven lume, but I have a needle point tip size black dot on my 5 o clock lume. And would like to know if RSC has taken care of you.
