You'll get one in Florida I'm pretty sure. However when I was in the Orlando dealers they spotted mine and said they had waiting lists (whether true or not). You will get one from DavidSW too at slightly under list.

However....the BIG issue is price.

AD price including Florida tax at current exchange rate is apx £7500. Also you need to declare the watch when going through UK customs and pay U.K. VAT. This could make your BLNR close to an eye-watering £9k. Even from DavidSW the total is WAY more than from UK.

Uk price is £6,550.....so I'd either wait the 18 months, visit some ADs and put some effort in (it will pay off), or pay a premium from iconic watches or similar in the uk (£7,500 or so)

All UK options work out WAY cheaper.

Hope this helps...get your trainers on and start making friends with UK ADs :)

Great points, that exchange rate factor is going to be brutal. BLNRs are pretty common in US ADs, although some may keep them in the back for serious customers only and not on display.

You may have better luck making a trip to Canada in the near future. Currency rates may be more beneficial for you and still see a decent selection in the major cities.

Call every AD as often as you can - one will turn up eventually if you don't give up!

It's worth it.

The Uk is about the cheapest country in the world currently for Rolex.
There is IMO zero reason to shop in another country as it will not only be more expensive than UK at purchase point, but UK VAT of close to 20% needs to be added on return into the UK (and I wouldn't recommend evading it).

Yes UK availability is poor and that's unsurprising as tourists are desperate to find SS sports models as are locals. Rolex are drip feeding ADs with the desireable pieces.

Nothing is unobtainable in the UK, it just requires tenacity and focus.

Pretty easy to find in the states. When I was in the market all of my local ADs had one and I even got 5% off out of state and didn't have to pay taxes

Very available in the US. If the AD is part of a group and they don't have the BLNR one of the other stores in the group will have it and gladly send it along.

My local AD had one in the case two weeks ago, but it's since sold.

There's another AD that I frequent a few times a year that had it in the case a few months ago. Not sure it'll still be around in September though. If you are still on the hunt when it's closer to your trip to Florida, PM me and I'll see what the ones here have.

are you sure 20% is charged at UK customs?

i was under the impression only import duty is chargeable at around 4%

i think 20% VAT is only applicable to goods bought within UK borders.

apologies if im mistaken..

I've looked to buy in the US many times and the best price I've ever seen is the same as in the U.K. - plus you should declare on entry for tax as well making it far more. That was when the $ was weak against the £. Now the £ is very weak.

U.K. lack of availability is a constant question on all the forums. I can say reasonably confidently that if you really want one and are prepared to put the effort in, you'll find one. Problem is people call 2 AD's and give up. I've just sourced a BLNR for my brother, a date sub for my son and am looking at getting a 116610lv for someone. It just took phone calls.

Import duty of 4.5% Plus UK VAT of 20% is chargeable.

(I've just checked on the import duty calculator - OUCH)
