Variations between various 15202 series?
Hi there.
I'm potentially interested in buying an 15202 (2012) and heard that the latest J serial versions have a much brighter dial compared to the older ones, is there anywhere I can read in detail about these minor changes between the different serials? Thanks. |

Not sure if this has been posted but the J series movements don't have balance cock adornment (the few I've seen). Also the clasp has 4 screws in the locking mechanism instead of 2.

i have a RG 44mm ROO J series numbered in the 35,000's purchased at the beginning of april 2017 so its the most current letter in the series, as the cutoff for switching numbers is at least above 65,000 as my I series 15400 is in that range. The 44mm is the SIHH 2017 version so it was obviously very recently made. Those numbers also roughly puts production at 34-35k over a 12-14-ish month period as well, right on what most estimates are |

Cheers bud. Thanks for the input. My 15400 is an I Series 8X,XXX. So I'm pretty sure it extends past 65,000. May ask how these AP serials work? I assume the "case" No. Xxxxx is the number of RO or etc made? The "Letter" XXXXX is how many AP watches made in that series? And the movement numberapprox the number of movements/cal made (or maybe that's just a random number)? |

I figured the cut off number was way higher than 65,000 as i purchased that I serial 15400 well over a year before the J <600 piece. Thats for the serial number with letters. The other number at the top I am not entirely sure. It may be the running total of the number of that model produced (irrespective of the serial letter number)... but that is just a guess. Its not a particular model identifier as the 15710's i have seen all have different top numbers. My top number is way higher than the J serial number. So it makes sense it may signify the 1,700-ish 15710 produced overall and falls within the <600 J serial production time frame. That is a guess though. Movement numbers are the serial number of the movement. How the numbering works i have no idea |

As well, I've created a thread on the "variations" of 15400. It also seems to me that they have mixed and matched "new" and "old" parts until somewhere during the I Series when they updated dial, bracelet, etc. |
