how would 2 platinums overlap

a lot of people have many steel watches, often many of which with the same colour dial, and they manage to rotate them

same story regardless of metal imo

Yeah, I really love the feel of the platinum. I'm not there yet, so hold those congrats, at least for now!

Thanks for the feedback. And I feel I would wear it whereas the 5712/1a has become a safe queen, sadly.

This is what I want to ensure...thanks!

Agree. The beauty, yet the differences, of both is striking. They just sit so nicely on the wrist.

Thanks for your feedback.

Although I admit...motif would be my first choice
I've seen the deconstructed Romans - I like it, but just not as much as the motif and sticks version.

Very good point regarding the weight. Thanks!

Yes, similar, yet very different. Many thanks!

I'm getting to this rationalization...I just need to get over the idea that I am selling my first (and only) Patek. Sigh...

Ha! True, but the DD40 is so comfortable with good (albeit lighter than the Platona) weight in the platinum.

Pictures do not do it justice.
Agree...the motif is much nicer in person, and even nicer on the wrist!

Yeah, dreamy is correct. I'd be sans my only (and first) Patek, though. That's the mental hurdle I need to jump over. This is why I'm also looking at other Pateks, too.

Well said, and very true. Sage advice, Sir. Thanks.

Now that would make your PM collection complete (my opinion of course), my friend. The perfect companion to your platinum Daytona.

Can't go wrong with that one, Stephen. Said it before and will say it again. The platinum DD 40 would not be redundant if paired with the platinum Daytona. You would have a kingly pair of Rolex PM watches right there.

Bezel still seems too big in person relative to the proportions of the original

Two completely different watches, they'll get along just fine.
DD40 in Pt on President, wow, it does not come any better than that

I definitely agree with the majority here. The two Platinum's would make an awesome pair.

That said, whilst I love the Platinum DD and have always lusted after one, I personally prefer the WG green dial DD40 now though.

I think the DD40 and Platona will pair perfectly together. I can only imagine a life where my Platona is my casual watch because I have a Platinum DD40 at home!
