RO 15451ST Opinions Needed

Gents

I get the sense that most of you arent fond of diamond bezels. Generally, I share the sentiment, however, this particular RO15451 has caught my eye.

I know others have contributed to my previous questions about this watch, however, id like a wider opinion on the following:

1. This model is labelled "unisex" by dealer and "ladies" on the AP webpage, do you consider this a unisex watch or strictly ladies?

Two AD's in london with websites showing their collection list it as ladies as well.

To me its pretty feminine. I like the watch, but no, i would not wear it personally.

Tastes vary by country and culture of course. But to me its a no as a man's watch.

I like it, but looks a lil small on you... regardless, if you like it, get it!

If you think about it, how many ppl would actually know IF it's ladies only? Prolly not very many.

Not on the same lines as an AP, but I've bought and worn ladies sneakers cuz I like the color/pattern... Idgaf

Exactly, if everyone bought what WE as a majority preferred, EVERYONE would have a 44mm or a 202, lol!

Fair point you raise. I can see how that makes sense. But to put it in perspective, would you be comfortable to do the same thing at a much higher price?

Good question... 5-6 years ago there was a ladies Offshore that I would've strongly considered, but it was only 37mm, which is too small for me.

Perhaps you could kindly take the time to explain what you are looking for, why you like this specific piece and which other Royal Oak (or indeed other watches) you have ruled out and why as part of your considerations? That will certainly help inform my answer.

As it stands;

- To my surprise, I generally like the overall look, though the diamond bezel is not something that I would personally consider for myself (though as tyler1980 stated personal tastes vary widely)

- Whilst the 15450 size fits your wrist, I would suggest that you could accommodate the 15400 - though I do not believe that is offered in a similar style with a diamond bezel

- I do not think that anyone would consider you to be wearing a 'ladies-only' timepiece or that you would 'look like a muppet' wearing it

I like this idea, what about a 15400 and adding diamonds to the bezel?

I'll add this... If it was 42/44mm, AND, I had a cpl watches in the box, I would absolutely buy that FC ROO.

Im looking a piece to wear and enjoy for many years to come. Im generally a reserved character, however, just for this one time, i feel id like something that "pops"! I have a small wrist at 6.5" or so and that means im comfortable with cases are up-to 40mm, depending on design. At this stage, i havent really considered other RO models or ROO models. The 15451 does tick a lot of the boxes mentioned above, im just concerned about it being a ladies piece. Perhaps this is silly of me.

Based on this, I believe that you have found your next watch and should go ahead. Do you have a good deal lined up?

You've found a watch that has drawn you, not least away from what you perceive to be your traditional ("reserved") comfort zone. In my view, you clearly like the piece, having spent considerable time considering the purchase. In addition, the piece that you have selected meets your broader criteria (such as size and a bracelet).

As I have suggested previously on a different thread, I would suggest that the white dialled-variant would be a better alternative, but again this is down to personal taste (and interest in purchasing the bracelet separately).

Aside from extending the idea to the considerably more expensive 'frosted gold' pieces, it is not clear what else would fit your brief from within AP. As such, you would need to expand the search to other manufactures.

obviously you should get it. This is the 3rd thread at least about it, so you really, really like it. Whatever you do, don't let us talk you out of anything. Our opinions are ours. Just because i would not wear it does not take away from the fact that it is a damn fine AP.

It is marketed to women, yes thats true. But its not pink so you would be fine with it.

If i listened people here, I would have gotten the older dial ROO RG 44mm and would not have been as happy with it. I got what I liked best, regardless of popular opinion.
