Yes, that's a thick and heavy watch. Could be a reason why they dropped it. The three hander was also very attractive. I almost bought the pair but decided otherwise as I didn't have a chrono yet but had several three hander divers already. I had to put the chrono on a strap. The bracelet is comfortable and easily adjustable (single push on the clasp to extend or reduce size) but it adds considerable weight. Basically, you can't help noticing the watch on your wrist all day long. There was a time when I valued that in a watch, not so much these days. Nevertheless, it feels substantial and sturdy which is kind of reassuring in a diver. Tech specs: Size: 45mm Thickness:17.45mm Weight: 245g Lug-Lug: 53.5mm Movement: ETA 2892 with Dubois Depraz 2021 chono module 57 jewels 28,800vph 42hours power reserve;open-worked exclusive decorated Perrelet Rotor |

The Seacrafts are a good solid watch, whether it be your Chronograph, my 3-hander, or the GMT variant. The more I’ve thought about it, they could’ve been around for 4 years, as initial production of mine used the ETA 2892, while they developed the Soprod A10. I don’t think there was even a full 12 months of production with the A10, before the range was discontinued. The UK Distributor informed me that it wasn’t the direction the company wanted to go in, which is similar to Glashutte Original’s decision to drop their sports/diver range, the Sports Evolution, of which the Perrelet has a very similar clasp function. Sadly, they decided to ride their one-trick pony for all it was worth, and continue to do so – the Turbine – which I’ve never taken to, although they have a very novel crown feature. Perrelet has a new model they’ve been rather quiet about, and which has a new movement – a successor to one of my absolute favourites, the Peripheral Double Rotor – the Perrelet LAB. |
