Hello,

Does anyone know if the Tank watch that belonged to her which was sold recently at auction, was quartz or mechanical?

Have read about it and seen many pictures but it doesn't seem to say anywhere what was powering it.

Just curious.

Thanks, that's the same write-up that seems to be displayed on most news sites. It doesn't indicate whether it is quartz or not?

If it was from 1963, I'd bet my pension that it's mechanical. Quartz watches didn't hit the market until the late 60's.

I'm also sure it's a mechanical movement.
