Photobucket is no longer a option for posting forum pics.
After years of use on the forums, Photobucket has taken their members photos hostage by no longer offering any third-party support. The only way to deactivate your pics is to pay $400 a year. Any way around this mess besides paying the ransom?

Posted from Photobucket on iPhone and no fee paid. I just go to the Photobucket app and find the picture I want. Click on the I in the lower left and it brings up the links to copy. I choose direct and it copies. I come here (not tapatalk) hit the reply button and up at the top of the dialogue box is a mountainscape with sun (beside the globe with chain link) click that and paste my link. Bam. |

I have been having problems with Photobucket. Posting used to be easy. Now they have made it very difficult. And the ads are ridiculous.

I don't have a problem moving on to another picture host site but all the reviews I've done over the years I fear may be lost. There is a lot of valuable information from changing bracelet, straps, proper spring bars, how-to's in general with a lot of detailed pictures. What Photobucket is doing is they are searching out photos that are used a lot like many of mine in my reviews and then putting ads on them and holding them hostage until I pay a $400 fee so the links will work again. ugh.

In addition, that website is blocked for me at work, so I cannot see any of the images that people post from there anyway.

I just attached this from photobucket. Photo bucket is a hosting site unlike tapatalk which you directly down load from your phone or lap top.. It took me a few minutes to figure it out as I've been messing with it for a few months and I think I got it going here

Some how you need to press the pic and it'll say copy or save then you can up load multiple pics using the upload from your computer option when you go to advance settings on the TRF manage attachments option.
So go to phtobucket press pic and save, it's for sure acting up somrimes

While Photobucket went through some difficult times for what seemed like forever, it has been usable for about a month or two.
It's still a spam farm and you have to click through a bunch of pop-ups to get any work done, but it's fairly fast, once you develop a routine and be patient. If you see an image below, then the site is still working.

I think what you are doing is a little different than what Mystro is talking about. By "attaching" the image, you are taking the picture from photobucket and "uploading" it to Rolex Forums, I believe it is now Rolex Forum that is hosting the picture, not Photo bucket. What Mystro is doing, is embedding a link from photobucket into his post, that loads the picture from Photobucket into his post. This costs photobucket bandwidth and money ( but it's also drives them users and traffic). So they are trying to make some money back by getting paid users. I'm not sure what Mystro can do A) pay the ransom. B) ask the Mods at Rolex Forums to edit your posts, so you can attach the images to their servers. C) Remake the how-to threads, using the attach image button, instead of linking the pics from a hosting site.

Yea, it's called 3rd party hosting and what is used in multi forum posting. Photobucket will work if you don't have a lot of people looking at your pics. If you do Watch tutorials or anything that gets 10k+ views is when your bandwidth with be locked out. In other words, the more successful in posting pics you are, the more Photobucket is targeting you figuring you have a lot of time/money/followers invested and they can shake you down for money. I have already started to migrate to "picturetrail" today for my LVc unboxing. Photobucket just did this update 2 days ago and accounts are just starting to be effected. There is a uproar starting yesterday as I have read many complaints. Photobucket also added more pop-ups (if that is even possible) with the update.
Here is a popular pic of my old Bluesy via photobucket. This pic was locked up today if enough people view it in a day or at any one time. The pic will be changed to a photobucket advertisement.

Ill try some other options. What is scary about this is if your view count is low enough to think its working then one day you accumulate enough views on the forum and will exceed their bandwidth. At that point everything you have ever done on the forum is now gone with a advertisement.
