Have I committed a horological crime?
I put my daydate on a NATO. How do you think it looks? Bad idea? My reasoning is. I wanted something different from leather (and it's hot out) Also my gold bracelet was getting really sweaty and dirty. Also I want to preserve it from future stretch. I will put the bracelet back on for important events. Other than that I think I'm keeping it on another strap. I'd hate to shell out $5k for another gold bracelet. That's practically a whole new watch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

As long as you're happy with it.

would rather see it on leather, or even a perlon strap.

Like NATOs, just not on that watch.
Probably not a crime but definitely a misdemeanour |

I'm worried about bracelet stretch though. If I plan to keep this for 10 years or more then I'd at least like to preserve it. If I daily wear the gold it will stretch to shit and be worthless.

Of you're happy that's all that matters. It's a unique look.

The colour scheme of the strap is not helping you out.
If you are intent on wearing a NATO then try a black or a nice grey one. If you want to preserve your strap, a nice black leather or croc strap would suit it a lot better. |

An ultrasonic and regular cleaning will prevent future stretch.

Sorry, you're not doing the DD justice.

I think the Nato tones it down quite well.
It is the YG bracelet that makes a YG Rolex look loud and the Nato directs the attention to the watch. Well done, good move. Regards Mick |

I'm not sure of the life span of the bracelet, but what's the point of owning it if you don't use it? Why not use it until it is all gone and can't be used, and then you can put on some alternative, preferably not the one shown here.

Because resale value? I mean I don't expect to make a killing but there is a clear divide of 5-6,000 with bracelet in tact. And like I said I will put in the bracelet when need be. But for day to day use I'd rather not damage it doing daily things. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

No crime committed, you have, however (in my eyes), made the watch look truly awful. Why on earth would anyone buy a DD and present it to look as bad as it possibly could? That is difficult to do with such a handsome watch. But at least you'all be able t sell it and the next user will benefit from your care.

IMO preserving the resale value of the watch by putting it on a different strap is the watch equivalent plastic couch covers. |

I like the sporty look it gives! I'm a fan of nato straps and this is definitely a bold choice. I like that. One thing is - I'd turn down that end piece. Aside from that I get what you are doing and think this is a fun way to change it up.
