Bracelet "stretch" is really excessive wear around the pins, which can be minimized by keeping it clean (free of grit) and having it sized correctly (not too loose/floppy).

As far as aesthetics are concerned, to me a cheapo nylon Nato strap on a DD is like fitting wooden wagon wheels on a Bentley.

I'm not crazy about diamond dials, but it's your watch. Wear what you like and who gives a flying fig about what anyone else thinks?

Not the colour I would have chosen for a gold DD, you could buy some cheap leather strap, black faux croc, with a golden buckle , it would give a nicer look IMHO.
At any rate, you got quite a respectful number of comments, most of them rather against your choice of strap, I suppose you were kind of expecting that reading your thread's title. Ultimately do what you think is right, and what make you feel good.
Are you planning to sell your watch? If not then put back your golf bracelet and enjoy it. Life is too short
