Changing the date on a Datejust

You may have seen my other post about this. On my DJ, a 1998 Quickset, the date is advanced by turning the crown clockwise. Is that correct?

I have owned several DJs but not Quickset. I read online that the date is changed with a counter clockwise turning of the crown. So I thought something was wrong.

I bought it just a few weeks ago at a little offbeat shop I deal with for repairs. I just left there and he had another DJ that worked the same way.

I can be neurotic about things sometimes, so please put up with me on this.

How does your DJ work; counterclockwise or clockwise to advance the date?

THANK YOU!!!

................and or if you cant or it doesn't you can still change it by going the long way of pulling it to last stop and wind/move all hands to advance to the date you need to clockwise pos.

It is quickset. you can easily change the date. I am just wondering if the crown on a DJ should be turned clockwise or counter to advance the date. There's no need to go the long way to advance the date.

a few members were nice enough to contact me personally and indeed, it is a clockwise turn of the crown that advances the date (in the first "pull out" position, not the last position for adjusting the time). I found mention of this elsewhere too.

It's funny, but several posts I have seen said it is counter clockwise for men and clockwise for women. I believe that is incorrect.

How do you change the date on a Rolex Datejust watch?

Rolex Quickset Date/Datejust

1.Wind the watch.
2.To change the date, pull the crown out to the first notch. If adjusting a men's watch, twist the crown clockwise, and twist counter-clockwise for a ladies' watch.
3.Move the crown out to the last position to change the time on the Rolex watch.

thank you Colin! I heard that it depends on the movement. It's amazing how unclear the info is on this. Many videos and articles describe it differently. Some say counter, some say clockwise. I've been into Rolex now for about 18 months, but my sub is a no date. I've owned Explorers, 36mm and 39mm and older DJs without Quickset. So this is my first Quickset Rolex. It is a U serial 16233.

I have owned a few Seikos and am pretty sure they change with a counter clockwise turn. So my DJ struck me as odd, but I am pretty sure now that it is working as it should be and as was intended. I should have asked the shop I got it at for the movement number. But it's working perfectly. He has one other DJ that works the same way, with a clockwise turn to change the calendar.

I purchased my DJ in 1988 from new, got curious as to the movement type

Apparently this is the way to tell – (since confirmed by the watch being serviced)

The movement changed in the later part of 1988, so there will be some ‘88’s out there with the newer movement – but it’s simple enough to test this ……

Looks like your wife didn't change it to a ladies movement after all.

I believe the ladies DJ ( not sure of the model/date ) would be turned COUNTER CLOCKWISE for date changes.
