Incoming: Second Sea Dweller

After picking up my first Sea Dweller (and my first Rolex) back in April I've become pretty smitten with both the SD and Rolex. Since then I parted with my first "real" watch - a 2201.50 Planet Ocean. It just felt too big and heavy after getting used to the 40mm size and I knew I'd never wear it again. Then I got curious about how a tritium dial 16600 would compare and well, the rest is history.

I was really happy to find an unpolished U-serial and it's a real beaut. I will likely hold on to the new one and part ways with the A serial as having two of the same reference doesn't make much sense for me. I will miss having lume (not that it's super strong on the A serial) but I may remedy that by getting a new 114060. I figure having a modern sub with the new bracelet, etc will pair nicely with the older SD. It really is turning into a sickness...

So the only difference between the two is the year or production?

Looks good either way.

So the new one is the old one.

Excellent watch(es). I think the 16600 is one of the best references Rolex has ever produced.

You should stick to the theme and get a 116600 for the modern fix!

Great examples of that model.

Incredibly cool and tough as nails.
