You know - this is a great example of why you should inspect the watch with a loupe at the AD. I did not do that, but did look everything over very carefully. I will say that even if I did use the loupe, I would not have thought to cycle through the dates to see this.
Either way, I will need to either live with it, or give up my new watch for 6-8 weeks to go to the RSC! I am not happy about that after waiting almost a year to get my 1st Rollie.

Also, I need to consider the warranty period - if I wait until the 1st service, a date-wheel replacement will be on me.

take it BACK!!!!!!!!! think about how much you had to put out money wise...and how hard you had to work for that money, and then think about that speck! you dont have OCD, man....you paid money for a watch from a company that claims to " pursue perfection"....why would you expect anything less!?

Honestly, this would drive me MAD. You payed around $7,000 (as of the new price increase) for your GMT and should get a near-perfect watch for that.

No Rolex purchased from an authorised Rolex dealer can possibly be a fake!!

If the speck doesn't go then you'll probably just get more perterbed by it over time - but then it's only once a month!

If it goes on it's own you're gonna worry if it's got into the mechanism.

Either way, I'd take it in.

Gosh, I'm thinking about checking every and each one of my watch's date today!
I found a speck of dust on the second hand of my Pepsi GMT. It was sent back to Rolex. It looked like there was a spot of rust or oxidation (but it shouldn't because of it is made of WG 18K). It turned out to be dust. A slip in quality control.

I would not have my watch opened up for that. You'll probably end up with specs somewhere else on the dial. Get them to brush it off on the first service.

I would have the AD make a note of it in writing. When you have your first service done, they should fix it for free. This way you won't risk anything else screwed up by opening it up unnecessarily.
