Non Rolex question for Rolex guys.
Hi Guys,
Quick question, I know lots of rolex lovers here also like Omega but what about Blancpain? Between FF Bathyscaphe and Omega DSOTM which one do you guys like better? Thanks. |

The Bathyscaphe by a mile! I had both for a while and still have the Bathy -- it's incredibly robust, a beauty to look at and feels great on the wrist. I really wanted to love the DSOTM but it got old quickly. In all fairness, I have a SS Blancpain and prefer the weight over the ceramic Dark Side; that was likely a big determining factor in my decision.
Are you considering something new? |

That's still new-to-you. I couldn't recommend the Blancpain enough. I thought I'd get rid of it when I started getting into Rolex but found that the two co-exist incredibly well. I have both the NATO and sailcloth straps for my Bathy and have found true comfort in the sailcloth -- it's the most comfortable non bracelet I have ever tried. Good luck with your shopping / decision making! |

I like the clean bauhaus design. It's also an incredible dive watch in its own right. If it "speaks to you," go for it

I thought the Bathyscaphe were really sharp and comfortable when I tried them on. However, the DSOTM line remains one of my favorites (wearing one while I type this). Movement, construction, and comfort are solid in both options you're looking at. I think it comes down to mostly personal preference. Unless you're active in a lot of water sports, in which case the FF would be the better option.

I have sold two Seamaster models and I don't miss them. I handled and grabbed a few Blancpain Sea faring models and I'm very impressed with those

If you like the look of the DSOTM, why not consider the Bathyscaphe in ceramic?

The DSOTM is not in the same league as Blancpain. The original fifty fathoms is iconic. Omega make great watches and 99 % of buyers would be very proud of their purchase, but Blancpain is on another level in terms of exclusivity and workmanship.

I can't believe I've overlooked this piece! I love the Ceramic Moon Series watches and only sold my GSOTM because I couldn't stand the tang buckle. I kept waiting and waiting for the deployants to be released but they had real issues matching the grey so ended up trading it. I will be purchasing again along with another black model but now may switch out one of the black models with this piece for sure.

For me,
FF screams classic, evergreen DSOTM is more "contemporary" |

If talking non chronograph Bathyscaphe, i would go with the Omega based on looks alone. I still think BP is a notch above though.

I'm a fan of the DSOM, especially the Vintage on the brown Asso strap, but the ceramic Bathyscaphe absolutely kills it froom a horological standpoint and on looks.
The steel chrono on the extraordinary bracelet is also wortha a look. |

Definitely Blancpain for me. The Bathyscaphe is a serious dive watch, with a serious movement. The Fifty Fathoms line has an incredible history, like the Submariner.

I love Omega DSOTM but the Blancpain is just special and gets my vote!
