In fact, Clearwater is now referring Canadian owners to Ottawa (I asked Clearwater), and Canadian ADs are also sending them to Ottawa too. I was skeptical at first since Clearwater gets such a good reputation, but Ottawa SWS now has my vote of confidence.
Wow, that's fast, I stopped by there as I live in the city, he has a great service centre. He is also a gentleman

Not a bad outcome!

Again, much thanks to a very kind and helpful gentleman here who helped me lessen the sting of a full service and get it back in lightning fast time!
Amazing turnaround!

When the APSC received it initially, their assessment was that it would be an easy fix - just a dial and hand alignment. Once the dial came off, it was a different story - I was told that the wheel where the hand sat was bent and the movement was very dry. At that point I decided to go for the full service.

At any rate, I was extremely pleased with the job that the Ottawa APSC did, especially at breakneck speed and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them!

Yeah it would have been interesting to see exactly when the minute hand changed. If the second hand had slipped a bit, then the minute hand would have changed at 2 seconds past the 12:00 marker. If it changed still at 12:00 then I don't know what would have caused that.

Spoiler alert: Unfortunately, the new incoming is not a 5712. Good things do come to those who wait.

Glad it all worked out so well for you Tom! Ottawa SWS also has my vote of confidence - afterall I have already sent a dozen pieces to them for service, and have not been disappointed once!
