Our diamond company MID has offices around the world and I told him we could also meet at any one of those offices, but he declined.

One can only conclude it was an attempt at robbery and possibly kidnapping. My Russian wife, Nataliya, went crazy when I first mentioned it to her. She went ballistic that I even considered it for a moment.

Sorry to hear about the friend to friend deal in a hotel room that went very badly.

Fortunately, we are located in a bank building and have a serious security system, so I think our chances of getting robbed at our location are even lower than a retailer in a mall.

Thank you for all of the thoughts and advice.

Mark there are large teams of Gypsys that do this daily they prospect off of instagram etc. Same story free tickets hotel show passport pictures bags of cash etc. They want to lure you there and once there you are 100% going to get robbed of everything. Its been going on for a long time. I get at least 3 messages on whats app a week same basic story. Hello do yo sell rolex patek AP. They have a story why they cannot leave etc.

Cmon! This is hilarious! “Bring some diamonds”??! Don’t forget to bring some duct tape and some plastic zip ties, too.

I would be tempted to make him pay for the tickets. It should teach the little scammer a lesson.

Why would anyone in their right mind ever even consider doing something this absurd?
