Not the usual...”is this too big”

I’m contemplating possibly adding this one back, I just really love this watch!
I’ve owned it before, and I thought it was to big, no one ever commented on it of course, family, friends, pics posted on TRF, etc....

But as the title states.... not the usual question

So I’m asking/stating..... is this too big? I think it is. What are the unbiased/wis thoughts?

I love that 44mm watch, but the tapering of the band bugs me...I think Rolex got the balance correct on the new SD43. Wonder what 2018 will bring

It's one of the only watches I missed and reacquired. I don't have the issue w the taper that most on here seem to have, IMO its the best bracelet on any watch out.

i dont think it can really be TOO big since its meant to be a big watch. i think it wears just fine for you. look at it as a tool, not jewelry- and i think your opinion might change

I would be the first to say DSSD is a BIG watch.

The angles of your view ( top two pics) will show you, the wearer, a BIG watch view. But in the last picture, seeing a full shot, it doesn’t look out of place at all.
I say go for it. Suits you fine.

Yes it looks big but I think that is the point. I don’t think they designed it exclusively for big wrists though. The other thing about the DSSD is it is big for a Rolex but it is not necessarily big as far as large watches go and therefore in my opinion even on a smaller wrist it doesn’t look cartoonish big like some of the really large watches. When I was in the military I don’t think I owned a watch as small as the DSSD! If you like and it’s comfortable (physically and mentally) that’s all that matters.

It is a bigger sports watch, looks fine on you. If you find some 39 mm dress watch it will look good too. Not every watch has to be either 40 mm or 42 mm... variety is the spice of life.

To be fair, Subs we’re still always on the modest end of dive watches. When the Sub was only ~37mm, the Fifty Fathoms was 42mm.

Either way, just wear what you like.

Seems a bit thick. I personally prefer the thinner submariner, but this doesn't look too bad on you, it is just a big thick watch.
