...life IS good
(Written Friday...)
A week has gone by. Me, another business trip in which I am fortunate enough to be able to meet with great friends one evening doing what I love, another watch aficionado gathering. This time, away from home for five days. Friday morning. This trip is over, and it is time to go back for a few hours as there is another short trip coming up. My daughter, along with 200 teenagers is taking a beautiful road trip and seminar. She will leave today and come back Sunday afternoon. We talk as my plane will land after the group departs. Sitting at the airport, departure takes a bit longer. It started snowing, traffic at runway. A smooth flight, landing over an hour late. A quiet drive back, listening to my favorite music. Reflecting on a great business week and a fantastic watch gathering...life is good. As I drive past the meeting point where buses with all those teenagers will depart, the buses are still there. Getting ready. I drive into the parking lot and find a spot. As I get out, a stream of teenagers start making their way from the conference room to the buses, they are excited about this upcoming experience. I find myself walking between them....faces, smiles....in the distance, a teenager starts running towards me between the crowd. It is my daughter. She jumps and hugs me...we both cry. A big kiss and the most powerful words are exchanged: I love you. She leaves for her experience. I drive back home. Life is good. She will be back Sunday, I will be back Wednesday and we will have a few days together as my wife and son leave for another unique event that I will share with you later. As I write, I cry again. Tears from happiness and love roll down. I love her. My dear virtual family: say I love you. Today. Life is good. Thank you for reading.... |

My son and I went out to breakfast this morning. We walked to the restaurant, which was about a 30 minute walk. It was nice talking about life and answering his questions. We talked about his French studies and went to a little French bakery near the restaurant on the walk back home to buy some bread and Madeleines for later. Life is good.
