Rolex vs Invicta.........Apples and oranges?

I understand there's virtually no comparison between the two watches in both quality and heritage. But I wonder, Invicta watches I'd say on average would be around $100-$500 price range. Obviously Rolex watches are much more expensive, but I wonder who makes more money at the end of the year? Invicta has shops all over the world including a huge store in the heart of Times Square. Invicta has the license for Disney and Marvel comics, dominates the shop at home network and just about every jewelery store in the country carries them. So I wonder, at the end of the day.....financially speaking, who is more successful? (Please, I know there will be some forum members anoyed buy this topic, but it's just something light hearted to discuss)

who is more successful is subjective... I'd rather run Rolex and get paid less, than run Invicta and get paid more.

I know you said financially, but that's how I see it

There's a place in the world for Rolex and a place in the world for Invicta.

Rolex without question. Invicta about $50 million per year, Rolex about $5 billion per year. Or Rolex sales is equal to 100 Invictas,

What do you mean "who makes more money"?

Profits?
Revenue?

I would buy one of those Invicta cases.

If only it didn't say Invicta...

Probably more likely to get stolen because of that text.

More successful, sells more watches, makes more money at the end of the year, higher profit?

The reason Invicta has any success is because it’s
virtually mimicking Rolex models and designs...!!!
Without Rolex to copy from and other high end brands
Invicta would be scheis , zero...

I’ve now been burned on a number of occasions complementing
someone on their nice watch thinking it was a Rolex only
to find out it was a Invicta... disappointing to say the least.

So true. Invicta makes cheap watches that they pretend are worth more than they are and that sell for a fifth of their "msrp." I have a collection of now unused Invictas. The only ones working are several mechanicals. Those are being saved for the Zombiepocolypse. The only good news is that they sparked my interest in real watch brands.

I've learned the hard way; now when I see a nice looking watch I'll comment that I'm a watch collector and that the watch is attractive, what is it? I did that the other day to find out, sure enough, Invicta.

I definitely agree Invicta made a name for themselves originally buy copying the Submariner with their pro diver, but the stuff there producing today looks IN NO WAY like rolex! Unless Rolex is producing 60mm watches...lol

Well they do have their own version of the Hulk; it is uglier than sin. 60mm. Wearing one on each wrist saves trips to the gym. Hard to take a watch seriously that looks like a toy.

I believe Invicta is classifying that as mid size (son of Hulk)

My wife did something equally as cringeworthy at a wedding recently. The groom came around to our table and my wife noticed he was wearing a two tone Submariner that "looked" like mine. She actually said to him, "Oh, you have the same watch my husband has!" She had me show him my watch and I noticed his said Invicta on it.

I was recently at a gathering with college friends, the host was wearing what I thought was a TT Sub. I almost said "nice watch" in front of everyone until I saw it was an Invicta!

Lessons:
1. We all know what ASSuming does...
2. Just shut up

You really have to wonder who buys the giant ones. They're not exactly cheap. A guy on youtube reviews them who must have spent thousands - Just mind boggling.

For $3000 this quartz beauty could be yours.

Curious. Is the overall contempt/ridicule towards the Invicta brand based on some sort of Rolex owner 'snob appeal' (or perhaps the case of random mistaken identity from a distance?). Granted Invictas are known to have lousy customer service, a 'copycat' Rolex design + the engraved 'Invicta' (on the rear of their SS sports models) is incredibly tacky. On the other hand, the Invicta is an affordable watch for many and all things considered, serves its purpose.

What puts me off is the blatant copying of Rolex designs. I wouldn't wear a fake Rolex and I also wouldn't wear an Invicta. The fact that it says Invicta on it and not Rolex doesn't make it any better in my opinion.

Your absolutely correct, and the original post was not intended to put down the company, in fact I give it much credit for creating what it has! For many people spending $500 on a watch is huge, and I get that. To tell you the truth, I'm more comfortable wearing my MTM patriot or a g shock than my Rolex. I have owned plenty of invictas and have met the owner and spoke to him for a while about watches, he's a great passionate guy, loves what he does. Here he is checking out my tattoo for a new watch design, lol.

That is amazing.

At least the name hulk makes sense for this monstrosity.

Calling a 40mm watch hulk shows how badly people cling to whatever pop culture association they can make.
