I heard a lot about this drop so I thought I'd give it a try tonight for the first time. Unfortunately it wasn't to my liking, back to glenfiddich or Johnny walker explorers edition gold reserve. I should never have strayed!

Which Japanese whiskeys do you recommend? I've been thinking of moving onto them. I really enjoy bourbons or whiskeys with high rye content.

It abused my mouth! I know it's got a great reputation but it just didn't work for me.

As for the person who asked about Japanese whiskey, I tried a bottle of Iwai not longer ago and enjoyed it, I'll have to get it again a post a pic.

I don't have much experience with them so far. Just recently picked up a few bottles. The Suntory Hibiki was really great though. I would start there. No real complaints about that bottle. The Suntory Toki was ok but it's not really my thing I guess. These are not really Rye whiskeys though. More like a highland scotch I would say from what I've tried so far.

Takes a little effort and several attempts but is worth the effort. Don’t give up so easily.

Heavily peated Scotch isn't for everyone. I prefer Scotch from the Highland region which has little to no peat.

Agreed. And on a cold night with a fire going, there’s nothing better. It’s on the heavy handed peaty side, so not to everyone’s liking, but for me, there is no equal.

Working on a bottle of Leffe. Loved in Europe and in the US. One of my favorites!
