Adding Diamond Bezel to 36mm datejust

Hi Everyone,

I have a 36mm datejust (pic attached) and I want to add a diamond bezel on it (after-market) to make it shine a little :)

I bought it in April 2017, I was having second thoughts about swapping it for a 41mm but a few friends on this forum stopped me. So I thought of not only keeping it but also adding a diamond bezel for Christmas :)

I will get D color and IF clarity. So the best one for almost $2000. Let me know what you guys think. Does the diamond bezel look good on guys??

I think the watch looks great with diamond bezel - but I couldn't wear it
I wouldn't go after market bezel (having done so in the past) ever again.
You feel like you are wearing a fake

Since you asked, in my opinion it does not look good on a mans wrist.

But that shouldn't matter to you one bit, if you love it then go for it.

If you like diamonds bezel go for it......

But this is a warning.....

I truly doubt you getting D color and IF clarity diamonds for $2,000

Example pictures of my diamonds bezel..... If your diamonds look noting like my.... It not D color and IF clarity diamonds......

good luck....

The watch looks great as it sits. I vote no on the diamond bezel!

I wouldn't.. I heard not only you won't gain value on the watch, you will lose more.

Thanks guys.....

I hate seeing members or friends getting rip off.....

Many jewelers claim their diamonds bezel to be high quality such as D color and IF clarity diamonds..... Which is not.....

buy with caution if the price is to good to be true.....

Why do you ask random people when you know most will not love the idea?

I would not worry about most negative comments on here, the majority of folks on this forum are Sub/Daytona fanatics and dont like anything but those.

Not true......

Main thing is to keep all the Rolex original parts.... It can be reversible..... see bottom pictures....

High quality diamonds & the high quality workmanship is key of not losing any money.....

Example pictures of the original Rolex stock bezel.... Love those Rolex hallmark on the back of the stock bezel.....

I don't know how the diamonds are added on the bezel. Do they modify the original bezel or just remove the original and use an aftermarket one? Your pictures shows the fluted bezel on top of the diamond bezel. That's not the reversed back to original that you were talking about, right?
I checked out the prices on Rolex with "custom" diamond bezel online. Are the pricing usually lower than what you would pay for a watch + the custom work?

Dang those are some good quality diamonds.
If it's good quality for example like those then you are good to go.
I see so much cheap crap that people put on. Misaligned and stuff just makes the watch looks cheap.

It looks great, go for it, unfortunately I don't have the guts to wear a diamond bezel but love the look

Sorry for the confused...

The pictures that showing is comparison of the modify diamonds bezel is not overwhelming to the stock bezel...

You just have to have a watchmaker pop off the diamonds bezel and put on the original bezel...... And it reversed back to original.....

For the top price on the watch is have to be high quality diamonds plus it have to have all the original parts just in case the new owner want to reverse it back to stock....

The diamonds bezel can be sell separately.....

One recommendation: Compare, in person if possible, the Rolex diamond bezel with the aftermarket diamond bezel before you make a purchase decision. I believe you will be surprised at how much nicer the Rolex version is. The degree of uniformity in both the diamonds and the setting of each diamond in the Rolex bezel is impressive.

I have the Rolex diamond bezel and the diamonds are beautiful, but small for the price.

I'm big on diamonds. I am guy. With that said, I could only wear an all diamond bezel with long sleeves. Otherwise I might give off the wrong impression. Do what you feel is you. Attitude is all you need.

1st i like diamonds, I have a 3 carat bezel on my datejust and looks great.
2, no way your getting d and if diamond bezel for anywhere near 2k.
most aftermkt bezels are made of crap so it helps to see it in person. It can also be easily swapped back w no issues.

Does anyone have a recommendation for good aftermarket bezel for 118238? I would prefer original Rolex but I was told Rolex will not add a diamond bezel to this model...
