SF is a special town. Too bad for the excessive gentrification now but that’s how it goes..

I got lucky with Sixt.

They didn't have Merc's at Frisco, but got an Cadillac XT5 (with Florida plates ) 14 day rental with return in LAX for the horrendous price of 540 USD.

Great Pics!

We just did a road trip down route 1/101 along the coast line all the way from San Fran to LA with a nice rental. One of the best trips I have taken! SF is a great city, Napa was a learning experience, next time will skip all the big known wineries for their scenery and will go to the ones that have the good wine instead. I liked Carmel better than Monterey, very charming small town, lots of Art galleries, great food, we almost bought a nice piece of Art there. We also skipped Big Sur and Santa Barbara, will definitely do these on the next trip. The driving was awesome, I highly recommend it! I also recommend stopping by hearst castle in San Simeon!

Didn't think Vegas could get much *worse*, but it has.

Shortened our stay here a bit. But looking forward to the time we still have here in Vegas. Will do the Penn & Teller show tomorrow, and then Maverick Heli tour to Grand Canyon.

Any suggestions for Palm Springs? Since the weather is acting up, we decided to go somewhere warm for a few days.

Carmel has a great Rolex AD with a lot of vintage pieces in the case usually.

Time for a small update.

Spent 3 days in Vegas. Which was well enough for me. I think my wife had a small shock.

I was last here in -98 and I couldn't imagine the change. The amount of drinking/drugs going on is quite overwhelming. Vegas is very nice though, but not everywhere. Great shopping too!

Drove to vegas from Monterey, long drive, but very beautiful. All those pics are on my wife's phone, and for some reason hasn't synched to my computer, so I can't post them now.

Stopped at my consulate in Vegas before checking in to cast our votes in the presidential election. Fun experience.

After almost 9 hours on the road, a comfy bed and CNN was all I needed.

I love the older Neon signs of Freemont, rest of fremont on a friday night... Not so much.

More pics...

Had to stop at a somewhat known pawn shop on our way back up the strip.

Visited the Neon Museum. They house old historic signs. Recommended.

Met a couple of my hero's after seeing their show. What nice people they are.

Off to Grand Canyon with Maverick helicopters. (Thanks for the recommendation!)

This is the highlight of our trip so far! Absolutely amazing. I've been to the GG before, but not with helicopter.

This is the way to do it.

"Matt" our pilot was a great guy. Awesome guide too! And a watch guy! I spotted his Bell & Ross right away before we even got into the chopper. Spoke with him a little about watches when we landed in the canyon.

Let's see if he checks in here on TRF.

Thanks guys. Going to catch some more sun here in Palm Springs today before leaving for Santa Monica.

I had no expectations for Palm Springs, but we both loved it. What a nice place. Will be back here for sure.
