Help needed: Rolex Daytona 16520.
Hi All,
Need some help with identifying this Daytona. I guess it is a 16520 with zenith movement and inverted 6 however the dial shows some differences from photos of others online. For example the Rolex writing is very close under the Rolex down logo and the T Swiss Made T at the bottom is not as spaced apart as others also. Any ideas if this dial is genuine? |

I saw the title of the the thread....and all I can say is that I’m glad the OP is not “Aventura!”

[QUOTE=Chalet;8210575]Worth looking at this page as a reference.
Thanks, the dial on my Daytona still doesn’t match any of those but doesn’t look fake either. Very strange. |

looks to me like a Mark 3 dial.The " T Swiss Made T " looks little suspect.

Not sure I've ever seen that font used on Daytona subdials.
I'm not an expert, just someone who notices things like that. Looks weird to me...

The baton marker for 6 bleeds into the markers compared to the reference mk3.
It doesn’t look right. |

I can see during its life one lume is missing (10 o clock) and the glass seems to be plexiglass and not sapphire so not sure if that’s been changed or original. The dial is like no other on a Daytona I can see on the internet. However I can’t see any flaws with it either to indicate it’s a fake dial but strange for it to be inverted 6 etc.
I think I will find a way to open it up see if it indeed has its zenith movement. |

It must have been a re-dial, Which seems very odd that it would've needed it. Very weird dial indeed. Does the pushers have two rings? or one? |

Wouldn't have crown-guards. That dial just doesn't look real.

The 6 position on the lower sub-dial, which appears as a 9, is also not centered above the baton on the dial. And the crown on the clasp doesn't look right, but that could just be wear. The case also looks a little unusual.

Ceramic?
Am I mistaken in thinking there were a few rare ‘Ceramic’ dialled 16520 produced?

Everything mentioned and the fact that the minute track/chapter ring space to the inner case is way to big.
Also the inside of the lugs are rounded, not a genuine case. Please take it to a watchmaker and open the caseback and post some photos here on the movement for learning purposes! |

Looks more fake than genuine to me.
Lets see shots of model and serial number between lugs OR a moment photo
