I am looking forward to hearing about how you discovered this. The pencil hands and unique second hand lume dot are pretty terrific. Congratulations

The Gypsy ROLEX 6205 , sells for over 225k

I’m in the loose diamond - watch business. I buy and sell modern and vintage watches. I’ve done this for the past 30 years.

LOL !! I got Gypsied by the Gypsy !!

Here is the story... I received a phone call from a dealer is San Antonio Texas. I rejected his first call because of my past dealings with him. He kept calling, 2 or 3 times over.. I finally decided to take the call, it's 2018 lets open the New Year and see what he wants.. I could hear desperation in his voice, "Sergio", I really need your help!!" ok, whats up. Can you look at a watch for me?? yes, i'll have a look, just remember, we've done this before and you have a horrible way of doing business!! i know but it's different now, please help me....!! ok, send me the pictures.. I like it, was my response!! how much ?? he responds with Look Sergio, if i give you a price it's yes or no, thats it !! ok, how much??

done, I'll take it !! OMG, he says, ok, drive here 2 hours away and pick it up!! ok, i'm on my way.

he backed out !! left me hanging in the wind with my money in my hand.. haha, oh, well. what can i do. the price went from 70k to 75k to 80 to 90 and so on and so on.. This is why i will never have anything to do with this guy again.. i'm such a cry baby, i know.

No, I didn’t get the watch. He sold it to the next guy that offered 100 bucks more.. The most horrifying part of the story is we had a deal, it was done. I was on the way there when he called and said, i changed my mind..

It’s a shame, you win some and you lose some.

I've had that happen a few times. Though not for a watch like that.

When it happens on the retail side of the business it’s understandable to a degree. When it happens from a dealer in the watch business, in the trade, yes pretty much GETS ME IN THE GUT !!

So was he a gypsy ? There are a lot of gypsies
Where I’m originally from unfortunately...
I can teach you some choice words to let him know
how you really feel ...

That was so wrong of him to do that !
He should’ve given you the chance to match or
best the offer at the very least ...

One of my grandfathers was a gypsy (Romany).

I couldn’t agree more. This deal was worked over as hard as I could work it. Hours and hours of time spent trying to get this deal done.

An agreement was made and he swore to the highest of high it was mine. He then pitted me against “Bob’s” and every other Tom, Dick and Harry !!

Angry Angry Angry

Yes, he is in fact Romany “Gypsy” , the only word I can think of for him is “preKaza” !!

I’ll take responsibility for some of this but daUm, the backing out of this BAD LUCK 6205 just ruined my state of mind.

I will for sure never be doing business with this fellow again, no matter how much he begs for help on his jewelry, diamonds or watches..

Moving on now :)
