Good price for 15450 Blue?

Hey all, tried on the 15450 in white this past weekend at the local boutique and really liked it! Was curious to get your thoughts on how much of a discount I should be aiming for.

Also, are most AP AD’s typically unwilling to ship to first time customers? Would love to save on sales tax if at all possible. Thanks guys

I think I recall someone saying they got a 10% discount on a 15450 blue (I think in Europe somewhere), but I'm not positive I'm remembering that correctly. The blue dial 15450 seems to be pretty hot, so I wouldn't expect too much of a discount -- I think 10% would be a good number to shoot for. I've never dealt with AP ADs, but the boutique in Bal Harbour had no issue shipping to me even though I'd never stepped foot in their storefront.

Paying retail is probably a good deal if its in stock and available to buy as discounts are getting tight as AD's cant make up for selling low with increasing volume as AP isnt giving them volume.

Unless its been sitting for a while which it probably hasn't i wouldn't be optimistic.

FWIW some guy on another thread is on an 8 month waitlist for a blue 15450 in the states.

Hard to get so would be surprised if you get a discount. I've had one for a few months and it is fantastic!

Tough to come by at a non boutique so discount will be slim. Doesn’t hurt to ask though

there are plenty of threads on TRF from the last 18 months with people saying 15-20% is easy, given the smaller size. even 25% for the white dial.

was hoping to see one from a trusted seller on here, but no luck since Oct.

Thanks guys, looks like I might need to move quickly if I come across one or wait for supply to perhaps improve. Surprised it’s such a hot seller given the size.

That’s awesome to hear! I see that you also have a D500 - they’re very different, but between the two which one have you enjoyed more?

Probably the AP. I like the Daytona a lot but for that type of watch, I actually prefer my Sea Dweller.

I'm not surprised at all. unless u have a 7in+ wrist, the 15400 is not going to look proportional on the wrist, IMO.

since they discontinued the 300, the 450 is really the only logical step.
and for me, wearing the 39mm jumbo vs the 37mm 450 is not too big of a size variance on my 7in wrist.

Are these realistic discounts? I want to buy the white dial and 25% off would be amazing.

No. They are not. Market has moved.

agree the market has moved since fall, but current production watches are commodities and the grey market doesn't move in one direction without pullbacks. a trusted seller here had a bnib 15450 white dial listed for $13275 in October (check watchrecon).

i think 20% off a white dial is still reasonable. the big move down in the USD over the last few months has made it difficult to find recent values, as the grey market import of luxury watches is no bargain anymore.

Ok, that's a shame. Hopefully when I'm negotiating in a few months the market will soften... hopefully.

I can’t seem to locate a 15300 blue dial. My wrist is 6.5”, so I’m not considering any of the 41mm models. That being said, the 15450 blue dial is intriguing. At least the 15450 is a current production piece. I haven’t seen many 15450 blue dials for sale, so discounts are going to be hard to come by on this piece.

In the current market, October is like another world ago. Count yourself lucky to see even a 15450 steel in any dial color in stock much less a discount.

So true. The market has changed tremendously since the fall, especially on anything with a blue dial.

I contacted a few AP boutiques recently. They had the SS white and grey dials in stock. No blue dials and there is a waitlist for these.

A well known seller recently sold a BNIB 15450ST blue dial for slightly over list. I wouldn’t expect to receive a discount from a boutique and would gladly pay list for a 15450ST blue dial.

I was lucky enough to source mine about a month ago. I am still awaiting for my 15450st blue dial but delivery time frame looks to be about 3 months out. I received a 5% discount at my AD and no sales tax. Hope this helps.

Yep, via boutique, but you’ll have to wait. Otherwise they are selling for approx. $3,000 over list price in the grey market.

No chance for 25% off or anything off to be honest. Bought a white dial one at list back in May and prices only seem to have gone up.

3-6 month waitlist for the blue 15450 in hong kong here.

i waited a couple of months for mine, slightly faster than usual being an existing customer of my AD, and had to pay full sticker-ed price.

Not sure about 15450, but I know over 15% discount can be had for 15451 blue dial from the AD.

Discount is gone. I understand maybe a yr ago but now you might get 3% on a white dial 15450 if its sitting in the case ..maybe. And for the blue no chance .

I would be surprised if you got any type of discount at all on the blue dial. I was happy to just get one at retail. Let the secondary market be your guide. As a general rule, if you see very few hard to come by watches going for above retail, it's unlikely you're going to be able to get a discount.
