Hard to make any kind of comparison as insurance premiums are based on a variety of factors like location, credit score, claims etc.

I just had a new DateJust 41 added to my homeowner's policy. Total cost was $71. I sent the insurance company an e-mail with a picture of it on my wrist and the $10,200 bill from the AD. The watch is now insured in my home and anywhere I wear it. The $71 is well worth the peace of mind to me. I had insured a submariner before and I believe the cost is $56 per year, but I am not certain about that dollar amount.
Hope this helps. |

My new “wear it” price through Allstate was higher but not more than other policies with the amount of $$$ jewelry. This was a additional insurance coverage plan through my homeowners. I am a “very good” customer with no claims. The moral is...don’t assume anything and give them a hypothetical scenario how and what real world risks you might have with your watch. Let them explain what they would do and pay in that particular scenario if something were to happen.

I put my BLNR, SubC, and PAM01320 on my homeowners insurance (Secura) and the premium is $244/year. That includes theft and mysterious disappearance (I lose one) worldwide. We're heading to Cannes, France for a two week vacation in June so that eases my mind if I decide to bring all three. Hoping I won't ever have to use it, as each piece is sentimental.

I recently purchased a Rolex Daytona and actually spoke to Jewelers Mutual about the difference in the selling price and what it would cost to replace. Since the retail was $12.4k and the gray market cost is around $20k, they actually told me they would insure it and pay out the replacement cost of $20k as long as I received an appraisal from my AD. My AD didn't have an issue with it, so if I was to get it stolen or lost, I would be able to replace it immediately with a like watch. Certainly didn't want the exposure, since that really seems like the only Rolex that appreciates as soon as you walk out of the store.
