Commute to work
Rant for the day.
Normally, my commute to the office is about 20 minutes ( 13 km), but once a month, I have to head down to a clients office in the city. Well, today was that day. Bloody traffic. The trip is only about 40 km, it took me one hour 40 minutes today. I have to pack a laptop & briefcase, and public transit does not take me from my home to this office very efficiently, so I am forced to take my car. It I can leave before 2 pm today, the drive home is around 40 minutes, any later and I'm pushing an hour or more I don't know how people do this day after day.

John, I feel for you.
When I was in Toronto, I had to drive my car to the commuter train station (3km) and I'd have to leave 10-15 earlier if I wanted a 'good' spot that would allow me quick egress when leaving in the afternon. Then I'd wait for the train... the ride of 45-50 minutes on the train itself, then walk from the train station to the subway station, wait for a subway. The subway ride would be 10-15 minutes and then a 7 minute walk to my office. All in all, it would take about 90 minutes door to door, if schedules co-operated. I hated it! Now I'm at work in 18 minutes on my bike, or 25 minutes if I have to bus it. Living in a smaller city has it's advantages. |

The only upside to working at this office today is the veiw from where I am sitting.
I can see downtown Vancouver, the mountains behind and the ocean to the left. However, I only enjoy this for about 5 minutes, the rest of the time I'm on TRF or working.

Hi guys,
Sorry to rub it in, but it takes me less time to get to work than it would for you to unzip and zip up your fly after a pee!! MOTAT is just 2 Kms. down the road from where I live!!

The other part of this traffic delima is that my Panerai/Rolex AD is about 2 km from here, but right dowtown.
If I bust my butt, get out of here a tiny bit sooner, I MIGHT be able to stop by. If not, then I have to wait for another day. Downtown traffic is worse than the fringe area this office is at.
