It matters to those of us who collect watches based on their horological significance or mechanical prowess as opposed to the impression they make on other people. I will agree that the watch “dresses” similar to a fluted bezel DJ41 when determining what clothing to pair it with, but the SkyD has a far more complex movement and is just plain cooler IMO.

my AD said the same about the blue dweller, and i got a flat "no" when i asked for an allocation. he suggested a different dial, and i declined. it's blue or bust - i know myself.

I heard a podcast not long ago where it was estimated that yearly Daytona production in Stainless Steel was ~ 20,000.

At WOS in London they told me they get a couple of SS Daytonas per month. In one store

I was told by a two location family owned AD in the Southern USA that they get about 5 white dial Daytonas a year.
