I'm not an overly big guy and have medium sized wrists, and this guy fits me just fine. Not disproportional in the slightest

I was very excited for the SD43 when I saw the photos...I have a slim 6.75" wrist so knew I would need to see and try on in person, did so at the Panama airport during a layover where they had one and it felt like wearing a hockey puck. Easily fell out of love as it was (Larry David voice) 'yuge!'
Great watch, just did not work for me.
I do think that the 2017 SD43 is a decent speculative buy as it is both the first year of release will be the only year without the new coronet under the 6 like all new models have.

First time I heard this about the old coronet. Can someone elaborate?

The models released at Basel this year have the crown in between “Swiss” and “made” at the bottom of the watch. Some are speculating that will transfer for all models built in 2018 but it’s just a rumor at this point. The website still has the watch shown without the crown at the bottom of the dial.

All 2018 Rolex featured from Basel have a new logo/crown between SWISS and MADE below the 6 o'clock; the first year release 2017 SD43 will not have this and its omission will be a cue for us looking for details to note about the first year SD43's.
Note: I am assuming all 2018 Rolex will show this new coronet; Basel coverage was on new stuff which all featured it, but I haven't seen any coverage on non-new or updated models, but my betting-mans-guess is that it's universal on 2018 Rolex.

I have a SubC and a SD43, my grail is the SD43 because is a cool badass big Rolex diver.
