Funny I don't recall those threads but this one.

That and a number of threads complaining that they could see no value in a watch which shows the month as they already know the month.

Even if it happened, it would probably only be offered on the oyster or jubilee band and it just wouldn't be the same. The bracelet makes that watch and without it, might as well spend your money elsewhere.

I would love to see a SS DD as steel doesn't scratch as much as WG and I don't like YG at all.

It would also help Rolex boosting sales as it would make the DD more effort able to the upper middle or more price sensitive 1%...

I understand that people in the forum disagree but I am sure the most people would jump on that.

Also, I consider the Sky D as a much more complex watch than the DD and they brought out a SS version... therefore I SS DD would makes sense IMO

Everyone who wants to "show off" can still go with YG but I like my watches more to be under the radar

No chance of SS for that. It would totally devalue the concept of the DD.

Skydweller is a relatively new watch and isnt an icon and Rolex wanted to boost sales most likely, which is why its in SS. Plus no one really liked the sky dweller anyway when it was in PM, even the WG. Then it came out in steel and all of a sudden everyone thought, "hey Rolex makes a watch called the sky dweller and its awesome" . They don't have that problem with the DD.
+1. Rolex would be crazy to do a SS version of DD. If that happen, that will probably angered a lot of existing DD customers and also depreciate the DD product line.

OP, give us some more meat on the bones of this source then.

Can't see it happening unless PM sales tank, which is what happened with the SkyD, and which was an extra waste when so much went into the movement and command bezel.

I doubt it'll happen, and I love my 76200, but I have to admit that I'd be tempted if it was simple like the original, with a flat bezel, Oyster bracelet and no PCLs...which I'd put at about a zero percent chance.

Laughable "solid" source and the credibility of this kind of thread from day 1. Do you really believe the OP having the guts to show up?
