AP service

I’m considering purchasing an AP. I’m still researching models, but I’m curious about a few things.

With my Rolex watches I send them in as needed for service. What is a reasonable timeline for sending in an AP model like the 15400 for service? (Ex: Every 5, 7, 10 years?) What does a standard service run? How long is the turnaround?

Just because I’m sure this will be suggested... I used the search function and didn’t find concrete answers, and most of the threads were 5 or more years old...

Thanks in advance.

Sorry, one more question... how rugged are these watches? I’m an attorney so it’s not like I’m banging around all day. The worst my watches encounter are busy airports or a Friday afternoon happy hour.

Thanks in advance.

I can only speak to my experience (chrono movement) but I know AP in the US has invested heavily in the post sales service. If you are getting a 15400 I would plan 6-8 weeks with a quicker turnaround possible. I know the newer watches from the boutique offer a 5 yr warranty so I would say 7 is a fair number to assume for a regular service. In terms of them being rugged, I wouldn't classify them as "Rolex" rugged but they can certainly handle the desk diving life!

Thanks this helps. It seems that the standard view is only send them to the APSC as well.

I would only deal with APSC and the turnaround is estimated to be 6 weeks usually.

That’s what I’ve gathered.

Anyone familiar with the servicing costs?

It's posted on their site:

Base prices, does not include if it needs replacement parts, etc. Prices in CHF.

I have had nothing but great experiences with APNA. I would never have any of mine serviced anywhere else.

Depending on how much you wear the watch service should be 5-10 years with 7 being average. Cost with shipping and CA sales tax is $930 on the 15400. Service times are quoted 6-8 weeks but usually are less.

I asked about service before buying my 15400. The AD in Charlotte said service would be around $700-800. I didn't ask about service intervals or how long for a service. I would say every 6-8 years would be fine if you wear it a lot. If not, stretch it out.

It's 900, likely more depending on additional work needed than just assembly and lubricating. https://www.audemarspiguet.com/en/se...rvices-prices/

Thanks everyone. I’m going to Vegas to try some out in about 4 weeks. I’ll be staying at the Encore, so I’ll be right there at the AP in the Wynn. I am considering the rose gold 15400, so it would likely be worn infrequently. I have several other watches, so probably no more than 10(+/-) weeks a year.

Servicing sounds more reasonable than I had imagined.

+1

Excellent experience with Stacy at Clearwater. I have a ROC and she took care of all my concerns. The watch came back perfect.

Yes the general prices are very competitive, but if you need new parts there it can get a little trickier as per its HH status.

Since they've covered the service costs, I'll comment on the daily wear question. So while they probably aren't as rugged as a Rolex (I'm not sure how anyone would really test this), I think that it could easily be worn daily by you because your long sleeves and suit will cover it most of the time at work. The brushed finish does show scratches but I find my 25860 ROC does really well when I'm wearing long sleeves/sweaters. In the summer when I wear short sleeves, I wear it less and sometimes on a strap to keep the bracelet looking nice.

AP is in crystals - the other end of the strip.

Good call, that makes sense.

I don’t believe so, I’m sure you are correct.
