An interesting phenomenon
Remember when several members here said that the 116719blro prices would tank?
They went up post basel 2018. I remember some said the first ss model would sell for more and the wg would go below 20k. guess that was a bad call. https://www.watchrecon.com/?query=116719&last_days=0

Was just watching a youtube video where they had a theory on how the SS Pepsi would affect the PM black dial Pepsi.
If the grey market for the SS Pepsi goes upwards of $18k, people might find it better value to spend a bit more and get the PM Pepsi instead (similar to the 116500ln and the 116519). Also, the inability to get the SS Pepsi with these long waitlists will also cause a shift to PM.

The WG version is a better design with the oyster bracelet anyways. I’ll be buying the SS Pepsi, but have to say if the price was closer I’d go PM.

BLROs can go up all they want. I think it's normal just because the new one has a blue face some may feel they need the black one now. Time will tell they still have to sell to be worth it and I don't see that happenig. I'll bet they will re-adjust and or correct and go back to low 20s. under 25. I always watch them too as I dream of one too one day ( maybe). Of course greys are going to try. Keep watching they'll go back down. Betcha!

Yes...and all the "experts" said the same about the steel Daytona if and when it ever got a ceramic bezel.
I don't know of much in the rolex line tanking, especially when it comes to discontinued... |

An interesting phenomenon
I don't know if the BLRO really went up? Sellers seemed to rally against it by raising the prices but their watches are still for sale. I do know that I have seen quite a few more coming into more reasonable prices if you talk to the sellers first. I have also noticed that the Batman is starting to settle back in the range of 7.5-8k recently on several forums than I have in recent months. I have a few friends who are complaining that they missed a couple in the 8k range. Which is significantly lower than some graymarket sellers were trying to get. I still Predict by summer and fall prices will return to more realistic levels across-the-board.

The higher SS prices go the higher PM prices will rise to maintain differentiation, imho.

Do you mean MSRP? Or preowned secondary market? I am still seeing weakness in preowned TT and PM prices. Demand (or lack of it) is driving SS up and the volume of TT and PM downward. BNIB Platonas are out there just over $50K on a watch with a $75K MSRP. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I'm a bit lost now... Will the PM blue dial BLRO also have the new movement and the mini crown at 6 'o'clock?

now the bezel color is popular... there are some complaints sure but its a hot watch in SS and there is no debate on that. Now that popularity will rub off on the PM version as they are probably going to be priced very very close for quite some time on the secondary market.
Im betting the SS will start at 20K for the first several months with grey dealers so the WG will be above that.

No to both. The WG BLRO is still on the 3186 movement and therefore doesn't get the 6 o'clock coronet yet. If it gets updated then the model number would go to 126719BLRO.

SS prices should hit a ceiling and plateu - people are not stupid once the price gets too close to PM why bother with SS.
Might has well just go and get the PM version. |

Hard to know at this point. But people can ask for whatever, doesn’t mean they get it!

Prices can't tank, greys are not going to commit suicide, at best there will be a slow fade down as buyers gradually disappear to either the SS or just away from Rolex WG as they are unguaranteed now.

This, and the WG BLRO is now the 116719BLRO-0002 with the blue dial. The black dial is the -0001.

The prognostication offered was questionable to begin with because it is simply too soon to really tell. Same thing with the mavens that posted here that thought the BLNR will automatically lose value because you have a Pepsi SS GMT on tap. Think you need about a year and a half minimum to really see where the wind blows on value.
