ROLEX Ref. 1675 GMT Master Dial Variants

Hi, recently bought my first birth watch. GMT 1675 3.2 mil not sure if dial matches the serial number. Thanks

Here's my battered 1675. I thought it was from 1970 from the serial number in the early 30's, but by reading that 1971-72 models seem to have serials in the high 2M, I'm not so sure. The current dial was installed as a replacement in the mid '90s, after a motorcycle accident that shattered the (plexi)glass, and made a shiny spot on the matte black background @ 10-11 o'clock. The date characters have the metal background, funky 3s and 4s, and non-closing 6s and 9s.

Any comments on the year, and if the dial is age-appropriate?

Hi I am a newbie to the forum, which I am finding very educational.

I have the opportunity to purchase a 1675 for the first time but am not sure of the authenticity of the watch being offered.

The watch is offered as SN 5mm, 1977 and sold by a retailer in 1981.

The watch comes with box and papers.

The hour, min and sec hands were replaced in 1998 by Rolex with tritium replacements.

It looks like a Mk4 dial to me?

Also will the replacement of the hands affect the value of the watch?

As far as I know, having the hands replaced will affect it's value. Let's wait for the experts to chime in.

Anyone can feed more information about the elusive MK0 Dial?
Saw one sold recently on VRF.
I have seen and owned most of the 1675 GMT variant dials including the Service Replacement Dial with "SWISS" bottom. But MK0 information is very very scarce.
Anyone can help?

That is a nice looking GMT, the dial is a service replacement, but it still looks nice.

Very happy with the nicely faded bezel. This in combination with the yellowish dial indexes make for a stunningly looking 60's 1675!

Yes the combo works very well together. Are you actually a 787 pilot, and have you worn your GMT in the cockpit? That would be a cool picture to share.

Many of the pics of earlier posts have become inaccessible due to photobucket's recent changes.

I have just come across this beautiful 1675 circa 1966 (serial number of 1.9xM). It does not come with a bracelet but I love the fushia insert. Looks like a W1 dial which correspond to the correct period case. Hands and etc also looks nice.
Would appreciate if any expert would chip in on any potential "flaws" identified or a correct range of price please.

Looks very decent. Dont see any "flaws" on that MK1 dial
But am not sure if it has been relumed as the pic is not clear enough to determine.

Is this dial correct for a 1967 GMT Master 1675 with a serial no starting with 16374?

I am still learning and therefore need to ask if the dial has any particular feature which adds to the value of the watch.

Yes it is a Mark I dial and correct. My question to you is, are the markers relumed? Based on the photo, they appear relumed to me.

As far as having any added "dial value," sorry, but no.

The bezel insert is a much later service replacement.

The markers look a bit bloated in the image. In real life they do not. I suppose it is the lighting in the soft box that makes them glow a bit. Is it a long E dial?

I would very much appreciate anyone giving me information on this GMT dial and hands. This GMT is a 1959 model S/N 50xxxx, but seems to have had dial and hands replaced. It is a gift from a dear friend, so I am not thinking of ever selling it, but for my own education, what is the effect on the value of the watch with such a dial change?
