Milgauss decision

Hi All,

I have thought about adding a Milgauss for years, actually I looked back and started asking the forum questions about one in 2015. To date I have not pulled the trigger. Understanding they are perhaps the most polarizing model I still want one in my Rolex line-up. I have several watches with dark and light dials so balance is not important.

I have located a NOS white and the black GV is readily available. As always, buying it right is paramount, but cost aside which dial on this model is your favourite?

Just to be clear I really don't think the blue is for me.

Thanks all,

GV. It's all about the green crystal. is the Z-blue out of the question? It was for me until I tried it on.

Milgauss decision

Black GV is been always my favorite. Blue is little bit of a gimmick if you ask me.

Such a tough choice. I love the white dial but black may be the best for casual and office wear.

Black GV is the only one I would buy. I’ve tried it on more times than I can count but never pulled the trigger.

My favorite is this one... Not fond of the tinted glass. I find the black standard the most striking.

Thanks Gents. Interesting, The black GV has been produced the longest and most likely the most common yet it seems to get the most votes.

White gets my vote. I have a lot of black face watches. Also the white has been discontinued which I like. But if you were to buy the White Version, it is not an everyday watch. It is nice to put in the rotation, but not something I would wear everyday. I also think it makes a good summer watch as the white dial brightens things up

Do they still make the Milgauss without the GV crystal?

If you want the GV, I’d get the blue. Otherwise, the white is the right move.

The original GV is the one.

I don't know why Rolex added a blue dial to a perfect watch as it does not compliment the green crystal.

My thoughts are confirmed.

A blue dial made a bit greenier??

Black GV hands down!
The white dial looks too plain to me. I was trying to choose between blue and black GV and decided to go with black. The green glass as well as orange hand and marks on a dial look much better on black IMHO. My new Milgauss is one week old. I am happy with the choice!

I wear my white dial all week and most of the weekend. Never gets old and somehow never gets recognized... perfect combo.

Absolutely

I helped a friend into his first Rolex and this is what he chose, I picked it up with him and have appreciated its beauty ever since.

Because the blue one looks much, much better with its sunburst dial.
Almost every Non-WIS will confirm this in a second.

Z Blue then White. My preference may stem from the fact that I have three black dial sport watches right now.

No, but since when has that ever stopped a WIS from getting what they really like?

Hard decision. My favourites are the discontinued black one and the Z-Blue. The black/grey dial is so much cooler than the dial of the black GV with the three orange indexes... The Z-BLUE is a very special piece when you are looking the actual catalogue, the dial has such a great variety of colors and in combination with the green crystal it's just hypnotising...

And because I can't decide me which one I love more I bought both... :)

Good luck with the decision!
