My Rolex Inventory Adjustment--->> DEEPSEA is here!

Hope everyone is doing well. I have been having a long internal debate with respect to my Rolex collection.

I always found myself a little uncomfortable with my GMTII Ceramic. I love the physical look of the watch, but after the novelty wore off, I was disenchanted with the very busy dial, and huge numbers on the bezel. Sometimes, I would look at the watch for hours, and "wish" it looked more like a Submariner or Sea Dweller. :(

Then we have my lovely Datejust, with black face and diamond markers. As lovely as this watch is, it's darn near impossible for me to tell time, in anything other than very good direct lighting. And it always felt a little small for my tastes.

Over the past few months, I found myself wearing my Milgauss constantly. Simple, unique, large white dial, and SUPER easy to tell time. It's a very robust, and functional timepiece, IMHO, and I still havent seen another one in the wild.

So I decided to do something for the first time. Previously I have purchased a couple of Rolex's from grey market dealers with great success. I usually did this when I wanted a watch that was not readily available through my local AD. So I spoke to Darryl at Swiss Luxury, and he made me a terrific trade offer for my GMTIIC and Datejust. I sent him my two timepieces, and he sent me a brand NIB DeepSea, still wrapped in all of it's plastics, hang tags, USA AD warranty card..etc..etc. The entire pricess took 3 business days.

The watch arrived today, and it's just perfect. The big boy looks great in person. I will take some better pics, and give a thorough review in a couple of weeks. But my initial wrist time action is phenominal. I love this watch!!

Hope you all enjoy!

Well done, sounds like you are very happy, and that's what matters. I have heard of quite a few guys who realised that the GMT IIC was not for them shortly after buying one, and I never heard that with the classic GMT, what was Rolex thinking. Congrats on your new SDDS, looks great.

Congratulations on a beauty pickup, wear it in good health.
The SDDS will grow on you, and it's my favourite watch in my collection.

I seem to only wear my DeepSea daily, and contrary to all the negative hype about this watch, I personally think Rolex made a great timepiece.

Given the choice between the GMT2c and the DeepSea, I'd pick the DeepSea too. Congrats!

very nice piece! If I didn't have such puny arms it'd be my choice, but I've come to the conclusion after a test drive that the original is my one and only. T-minus 44 hours and counting! Congrats, it sounds like your happy and that's all that counts!

Fantastic watch! On first try, I thought it was too big for me and too much. I never thought I'd meet a watch that was too much a tool watch for daily use.

That said, maybe I just need to have bigger wrists so I can manhandle this behemoth.

Congrats on yours.... from the side pic, it looks like it fits you better than it fitted me.

Congrats, Sharif.....gotta love that watch in spite of its overkill and high price. The construction and finish on that baby is absolutely superb!!!

Looks great a buddy of mine next door was wearing his today, so I just dived next door and demanded to try it on.

I agree that it's had its fair share of bashing since being introduced but seesm to have come through the pain of change and being very different.

Its here to stay IMO.

Well done and enjoym, just dont come back to the forum and ever say you misplaced it

Huge and overkill it most definately is. I will be doing some wrist excercises to beef up on the forearms.
