some vintage bracelets were made in Mexico and believe it or not they are made of better stuff than the some of the US and European bands of the time. I've worked on Mexican Oyster bands and they have held well over the years. No they are not inferior, same quality, but some experts will argue that the mexican Bands were stronger.

True..true..

But in the 60's Rolex had bracelets made both in Mexico and in the USA, apparently to avoid "complete" watch tariffs...

They were made to exacting specifications and quality control so I do not think that they are inferior..

I'm not sure about any value differences, although I know that on some references the USA made C&I bracelets are preferred..

Oddly, both the Mexican and the C&I bracelets are faked today...

That's some interesting info there, Dalton. Thanks for sharing. Do you have an old pic of a Rolex bracelet made in Mexico?

Thanks - JJ

not entirely. Some gold bracelet parts for the EU market are assembled in the region of Veneto,Italy. Nothing wrong with that,Veneto's jewelmakers are skilled folks,no doubt about it.

Have to agree and the Rolex bands made in the UK were very high quality,Rolex was UK based before and after the move to Switzerland.
