Datejust 41 vs Explorer

To start, I currently have an Explorer 214270 mk.2, and I’m definitely planning on buying a new Seamaster Professional when they come out this summer. I’m probably going to buy the grey dial with the blue bezel on the bracelet.

While I love the Explorer, I’m starting to get the itch to buy a Datejust 41. I’m loving the black dial with smooth bezel and the jubilee bracelet. I know that the DJ41 is not really 41 mm, but I’m craving something a little bigger than the Explorer 39. Also my thinking is that the DJ41 on a jubilee would be a more formal option and would compliment the new Seamaster.

Should I flip the Explorer for the Datejust 41? What’s everyone’s opinion on the Datejust 41 vs the Explorer? Does anyone own or has owned both? In a perfect world I’d love to buy the DJ41 and keep the Explorer, putting it on a rubberB as a beater, but financially it’s just not an option. Thanks!!
