Can a Rolex scratch itself?

So lately I've been traveling around Asia with more than one watch. I've noticed a few extra scratches on my daily BLNR than when I normally wear it. I've got the official Rolex travel pouch, given to me when I had my watch serviced and I definitely noticed a few extra scratches on the underside of the case. Anyone else experienced this?

Is your bracelet scratching the case?

Only if caught some sort of bad eczema.

PS: yes, it does if you fold it and clasp rubs against the caseback.

I would put a monitor on it at night that trips an alarm should it move.
Catch it in the act.

I’ve seen my Rolex do stranger things than scratch itself. So yeah it probably can

Yes ofcourse it will if you put it in a pouch in your pocket, metal on metal rubbing away as you walk.. daft question, simple common sense I think.
To compliment my own Rolex pouch, I keep a Rolex cloth folded inside, if I ever use the pouch I will put the cloth inside the bracelet to stop it damaging itself.

I have never used the pouch, but mine has a green card inside it. I just assumed you are supposed to close the watch around the card so it doesn't scratch, no?

Another risk is when you have a link that rests underneath the clasp. That link and the underside of the clasp make contact. The rubbing will leave marks on the polished edges of the link.

Exactly!

I don’t have a pouch as mine hasn’t had a service yet however I use clear ‘coffin’ box that the AD uses when take my Rolex on travels.

I have a leather pouch with an insert. Makes it nearly impossible for a Rolex to injure itself.

I believe in Singlish, you'd call this itchy backside?

Yep, metal against metal is a bad idea. Even shirt cuffs scratches.

Seems like simply wearing the watch as intended save a lot of grief and hassle.

There were times when Rolex was considered to be a tool watch. Nowadays it seems to be a jewelery for most of the owners.

Yes, it can. The clasp scratches the nearest bracelet link...

Numerous threads on this topic. Yes, bracelet will scratch the case back. Rolex used to provide the inserts for all of their pouches. Nowadays, only pouches with gold lettering have inserts, the others do not. When I went for service in RSC NY, they gave me a pouch for free without insert. I called them back and they sourced an insert and maiil it to me. I would not use pouches without inserts. I like to put scratches on my watches while wearing them, not when they rest.
