Oyster on new Pepsi GMT?

Online it seems like a few have been putting oysters on the new GMT. It was my understanding that Rolex had changed the case so that wasn't possible? So to put this to rest -

1. What did Rolex change about the case to the BLRO vs BLNR?
2. Can you make an adjustment to the oyster bracelet for it to fit the BLRO?

From what I've read, they changed the positioning of the spring bar holes. They won't line up with the holes in the end pieces of the oyster bracelet. I may be misinformed though, it happens quite often. Lol.

apparently it fits but i don't know why anyone would do it as it looks better on a jubilee anyway.

Also because the WG version is oyster IMO its no different than if you put a blue dial and blue bezel on a SS sub. Clearly you are trying to portray it as something it isnt.

I think maybe the jubilee on the BLRO doesnt fit on the other GMT's though. I thought i read that but have no practical knowledge.

Dont know about that. Amongst wis some may like the look or feel of the oyster more than the jubilee. Outside of wis, maybe 2 people know that the BLRO on oyster is wg, not ss

as i siad if i made a SS sub look like a WG one and posted it here i would get some comments for sure, guaranteed. I just don't see how changing the bracelet is any different as it is already available on a WG watch.

If it was an official option then yeah i would be ok with it though.

You and a lot of others..

Apparently that was not the case. The oyster has been fitted to the 126710 successfully, without modifications.

So it looks like we were duped, apparently.

Nice topic. I'm against what can be seen as an 'upgrade' mod too of course. However, in this case I don't see it as a mod for aesthetic purpose only. When I tried watches with jubilee bracelet it always felt a bit top heavy with the bracelet a bit lighter than it should for my liking, so I'd consider changing for an oyster bracelet to make it more comfortable. But I don't know how the new jubilee bracelet feels and I'd probably not change it anyway as I don't like even the most simple mods.

Actually I don't care for the new Pepsi, and it's partly because of the "blurple" bezel, but moreso because of the jubilee. The jubilee looks great on a President or a woman's watch but I don't like it on the big, bulky case of the Pepsi. I prefer the look of the Oyster bracelet, by far.

It's a perfect fit and yes Rolex lied to us all and said it wouldn't.

well, that is clearly subjective. not that I necessarily disagree. but still.

I actually put a sub C bracelet on my BLNR...is that any different? Certainly not trying to make it something it is not.

AND, that means I have a brandy new BLNR bracelet sitting in a drawer. I have absolutely debated putting it on my BLRO. It is nice to mix things up a bit.

Not trying to represent anything. Just a guy that likes watches and gets bored easy.

It's so routine to change a bracelet or a strap that I would never consider switching the jubilee to the oyster a "mod," nor would I assume the intent is to pass off the watch as the white gold version. It's perfectly legitimate to prefer the oyster bracelet to the jubilee and if you have to one and want to swap it on, I see no issues with authenticity.

I agree. I’ve put the glide lock bracelet from my 116600 on my BLNR before; to me it is the same principle as changing an insert color on my 16710 just to mix it up a little.
I guess I suffer from liking watches and with boredom too.

Yeah, the idea that changing a watch strap is somehow misrepresenting the watch is just silly. The lugs are designed for strap-switching. And, as noted above, the only people who would know which bracelet came out of the factory are the same people who know that bracelets are designed to be removable.

My understanding was that the endlinks do not use the same size springbars, so it's not 100% cross-compatible. Is that correct? It took some work to get the oyster on, did it not?
