Shipping to uk

Hi guys, I’ve noticed a sub c being sold in the classifieds on here.
I’m from the uk and the seller cwieb is from America, does anybody have any idea how much the shipping costs would be ?
And is it wise to buy a watch (which for me is a lot of money) from a completely different country.
Thanks

shipping is the least of your concerns. Paying 20% vat + fees to import it is the larger worry. That will be one expensive sub.

I have bought three watches on this forum from the United States and had no issues. I always bought from a trusted seller and would advise the same.

If the seller is unfamiliar with shipping costs and processes to the UK, walk away and find an experienced trusted seller and you will be just fine!

I'm sure when I bought the watches they came to me as already my property, being returned from having repairs.

I am sure at least one came to me like that. I think I got a customs bill for something like £150 for one of them.. this was when a 16610 was a little over £3000 though (years ago)..

VAT, Import duty and handling fees are approx 32% of the total value including shipping. You can try it if you want, but you run the chance of the fees plus a penalty (fine) HMRC can also confiscate the watch.

Yep HMRC will come down hard. Insurance being voided would also be a concern since duty hasn’t been paid.

I was in the same situation, when you take in to account the added duties to be paid, VAT, and other charges. Stay away, not worth it.

My 1680 got stopped at customs - had to pay over the phone with card to get released.
