NOT a fun 3 day trip

I know I will get the job done; but this completely un-planned and must-do-via-ground trips to the middle of nowhere are NOT fun!

Well....I will bring my virtual family along.

Yesterday I had an amazing day. Meetings, lunch meetings and wrapping up with beers with TRFer kneedeep. Today, alarm goes off at 4:45am. Double espresso and drive to office to meet with operations manager and a driver. Leave the city for a 1,500 mile in 2,5 days trip.....

Day 1: sitting in the car, even with stops, wears you down!

Quick stop in Matehuala was perfect for a visit to a tradition in Central Mexico: Tortas Las Sevillanas. Quick lunch; torta cubana. For this trip, Sistem51 as I am dressed up in hard hat, safety shoes, etc. And will spend my days in foundries, plastic recycling and garbage recycling facilities....

After making it to city #1 and having our meeting, off to sleep!!!!!

Wake up only to be HUNGRY. This is a small, industrial zone hotel so food is terrible. I walk to close by plaza....Chili’s, Applebee’s, etc.

Upon arrival...OH SURPRISE! They both CLOSE at 9pm!!!! WHAT THE?!?!?

I look around...a ha! MHC STEAKHOUSE AND WINE BAR. My evening is saved! Walk into the place....kitchen is already CLOSED!!!!! What the?!?!!

As I walk out, I see a small Japanese place. A few tables...all with japanese customers. I ask, kitchen is closed; but we can see you are looking for a meal, so we will serve you.

An elderly couple own the place. He cooks, she waits tables. They bring something...no idea what it is....yet, DELICIOUS!!!!!!! Fantastic flavor and seasoning, warm dinner after a long day! Angels do live among us!

Good luck, those are the worst types of trips. I’ve had it happen where no restaurants are open and trying to find food is near impossible. Nice of the owners to make you some food.

At least the weekend is just around the corner.

Nice work GG!

Sometimes you have to do the &@“% job.

By the way, Diet Pepsi and Coke don’t work.

I hear crickets and grasshoppers are pretty good. Surely you can pick up a few in that lush grass on the way to your next meeting.

What wine goes with that? Are they considered red meat or white meat?

If I were you, G, I'd try to find a decent restaurant before dining on grasshoppers and such.
