Now a proud owner...Tudor Date Day Jumbo

Hi everyone,

A few days ago my 1969-70 Tudor Date Day Jumbo arrived. After seeing Dan's nice DD I figured I should get myself one of these. Great size and presence on the wrist. Needless to say I'm quite happy with it.

I chose the blue dial, I think it gives off a nice vintage vibe. I had a choice of the regular thin markers but I think the bigger/fatter markers give it a stronger look. Hands have patina, so I'm not sure whether to keep them that way or have them replaced. And am looking at getting either a nice vintage black or charcoal gray leather band, or perhaps a Jubilee bracelet.

Excuse the poor quality of the pics...thanks for looking!

P.S. Thanks to Dan P. for guiding me along the way to get this!

Clarence-

Congrats and she's a beauty! I kinda like the fat hour markers and the patina on the hands is terrific!

Enjoy your new find!

Very cool, Clarence!
You'll have a blast testing differents straps.
Those early style dials have interesting hour markers that add to the vintage vibe. I'd leave the hands exactly as they are. They Just complete the charm.
Enjoy,
dP

Hi Len, glad to hear from you my friend...I hope all is well with you, we've gone back quite a long way hopefully wiser but significantly poorer (at least I am).

Thanks, I was looking for a "dress" watch that didn't look too serious, and this seems to fit the bill...

Clarence, all is well with me, thanks. I can definitely relate to the "poorer" remark, but the wiser remark, I am not always so sure.

Hi Brandon, that looks great on the jubillee. Did it come original with the watch? Thanks for sharing!

Thanks! Maybe I'll keep this brown strap and try out some others so I can have different looks...I think blue also works well with a nice black or grey strap.

Hi Clarence,

Originally it came on an oyster I believe.

This is an aftermarket jubilee, but I agree, it fits the watch very well. :)

Cheers,
B.

Jubilee for 38mm Tudor Jumbo Date + Day

I realize I'm resurrecting a thread that hasn't seen a post in 6 years but I've recently purchased a Jumbo on a leather strap and I'm interested in putting it on a bracelet. I believe it originally was offered with a 7836 folded link Oyster bracelet with 382 end links but I also really like the look of it on a Jubilee bracelet. What are my options? I can't seem to find what the appropriate end links would be for this 38mm case. From the little research I've done so far, it looks like the 555 was for the 36mm Datejust, the 550 was for the 40mm GMT and 40mm GMTII, and the 555 variants were for the GMTII. Given that there does not seem to have been a 38mm Rolex or Tudor watch offered with the Jubilee, will any of these end links even fit? It looks like the 55 and 555 end liks are the most commonly available, but if there are no appropriate end links for either the 6251H or 62510H, I would also be open to an aftermarket Jubilee. Any suggestions for fit and quality?

Thanks!
